On this day in Pro Wrestling history: 5/8/2007 - Edge cashed in his newly won Money In The Bank briefcase to claim the World Heavyweight Title from The Undertaker. He had won this opportunity with a victory over Mr. Kennedy on Raw.

On this day in Pro Wrestling history: 5/7/2007: in what was presented as an impromptu match: Edge defeated Mr. Kennedy to win Kennedy’s Money In The Bank briefcase. Information was shared that this occurred because of a severe injury Kennedy had sustained. However, it was later determined to be much less serious than what was initially diagnosed.
