Welcome 2026 Happy new year! Learning the game of golf is difficult. My wife has been learning the game for about 1 month. She is making great headway with consistency in her swing. We were talking about common struggles: not relaxing before the swing trying to focus on too many things. Finishing the swing in full (belt buckle facing forward)Exaggerating focus on ball hitting club- this keeps the head down and body in the shot. These are tough for every golfer. We have been working on shadow drills. Today we hit irons for the second time. She is making excellent contact and hits the ball very straight. I am excited, my wife has asked me to teach her to play golf. Nothing would make me happier than to fill our time doing this together. I enjoy teaching new players, and could see doing this in retirement. She has hit about 300+ balls to date, over 4-45 min sessions. Prior to 1 month ago, she hasn’t ever really held a club to swing it. Yes, I had Hunter at PXG Indianapolis fit her for a set of clubs. If she is going to learn I wanted her to have a set she can grow with. Still learning the basics but she is making good contact. This weekend we began to see what her swing is going to look like. It was awesome for her to see the ball flight, hear the contact and be able to repeat it! Golf is hard and trying to put all of the things together is harder! PXG
