This Friday, 5/22, we will NOT have a Spike Day at Monon Select.

We have always had this weekend off for Memorial Day as we wish to honor those US military personnel who have served and specifically remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

In the very near future, we will be sending out an email with information about Open Gyms, Tryouts and Roster Selection Process - so please be on the lookout for that email.

These Spike Days will run from 4-6 pm and all girls in Grades 6th thru 12th are invited. And the best part? It's only $5 per player (cash or Venmo works)!

So returning players or new players to the program - come on out and see what our program is all about and have a blast playing some volleyball! New players - come on in and we'll pair you up with a veteran Mustang player who will help you fall in love with the game! New families - come on in and talk to some returning families and see what we're all about!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - Mustang family, we are proud to announce our Head Varsity Coach and our Head Junior Varsity Coach for this upcoming 2026 volleyball season!! Let's go!! Our coaching staff is full for all teams and we are excited to announce the others in the coming weeks!

Abby Switzer – Head Varsity Coach

Abby Switzer has been involved in volleyball for over a decade, playing competitively for six years and continuing to play recreationally today. Abby began coaching volleyball during her freshman year of college and she has spent the past eight years as a head coach at the Open/Elite level with Academy Boiler Juniors and Academy Monon Select.

Abby is passionate about developing competitive athletes while also helping them grow as confident individuals. She believes in creating a high-expectation, competitive environment where athletes are pushed to work hard, be accountable, and challenge themselves to improve every day. At the same time, she strives to make the experience fun and supportive, building a team culture where players feel encouraged to compete, take risks, and grow both on and off the court.

Outside of coaching, Abby is a 5th grade teacher and proud dog mom who enjoys working with and mentoring young people in the classroom, on the court and off the court.

Jon Teetzel – Head Junior Varsity (JV) Coach

Jon Teetzel played the game of volleyball from 5th grade through his senior year along with other sports while in high school, and he played baseball at the D2 collegiate level during his college years. After his playing years were over, Jon coached volleyball at the collegiate level for over 12 years and now has coached at the Open/Elite level with Academy Monon Select for over 6 years coaching 12’s, 14’s and 16’s.

Jon is married to Danielle, a former collegiate volleyball player, and they have two amazing, great kids with his daughter also playing volleyball. Volleyball has always been an important part of his life, and Jon is passionate about sharing that love of the game with the next generation of athletes.

Outside of coaching, Jon simply loves cooking and enjoying time with his family.
