Formula 1000 is an open-wheel junior formula that began in 2007.

The series features high-performance tube-frame Formula 1000 race cars that are powered by 1000cc motorcycle engines. One of the newest SCCA National classes, it consists of both purpose-built cars and Formula Continental conversions cars, with top speeds in excess of 150 mph.

The 2016 (yes, 2016) commemorative t-shirts are FINALLY here! All drivers and crew that ordered a shirt should see them in the mail late this week or next week. If you’re not sure if you ordered a shirt, just reply to this e-mail and we’ll let you know.

Just behind is 2017 Daytona 24 Hour winner Jordan Taylor in the brand new, all red Ralph Firman Racing F1000 prototype car - #1, which was brought over from the UK for further testing and development.

Taylor Race Engineering Fast Lap of the Week-$250 product certificate- Alex Mayer- 1:19.983 (track record!)

The final points standings were also decided at Mid-Ohio. Alex Mayer had clinched the championship after Watkins Glen but most of the top 10 was still to be decided. Pete Frost was able to hold on to second place while Jeremy Hill jumped into third. For their efforts, these drivers also took home some extra prize money:

1st-$1500 -Alex Mayer
2nd-$1000 -Pete Frost
3rd-$500 -Jeremy Hill
