We are working on a trip for November 6th through November 13th, 2021 to Grand Cayman Island at Sunset House for 7 nights, with five days of two tank boat dives, plus unlimited shore diving. The trip will include ocean view rooms (double occupancy, 5 rooms available), made to order breakfast daily, TV, mini fridge, microwave, safe, coffee maker, private patio or balcony, free WIFI, other complimentary resort services and amenities, welcome drink & gift, airport transfer fees, and government taxes & service charges.
Cost will be $1802.35 for divers and $1227.35 for non-divers. A side trip to Stingray City will be planned for the Tuesday or Thursday when we are there. This will be at an additional cost of $50 to snorkel (or $75 if you want to dive). This cost will be paid directly to the dive charter. Also at an extra fee of $75, the Kittiwake Wreck will be available. If we have a total of 10 people (divers and non-divers), we get a DEMA special. That cost will be $1601.85 for divers and $1099.85 for non-divers. I believe this should be obtainable, since we have two rooms (4 people) onboard already. If we have more than 10 people sign up, there are some courtyard rooms available.
We have decided not to add airfare to the trip since some may want to use air miles or book on a flight/airline of their choice.
We will be taking a minimal deposit of $100 per person, due ASAP. A $250 payment will be due on January 9, 2021. Additional payments will be due on March 13 ($365 diver/ $220 non-diver), May 15 ($365 diver, $220 non-diver), July 10 ($365 diver/$220 non-diver), and ($357.35 diver/ $217.35 non-diver) on August 28 (payments will be reduced greatly if we get 10 people). As usual for large trips, we do an every other month billing to make it easier to pay and alternate the payments with those due the for divers going on the Alpena Great Lakes Trip next summer. The reason for having a final payment due in August, instead of September is because we have to pay the final payment to the travel company by the end of August.
We will also need to know if you want to book the side trip to Stingray City or to dive the Kittiwake. If you want to start making the $100 per person deposit (ASAP payment), you should make your check payable to David Dewhirst, 9001 Baywood Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46256. Please hurry while ocean rooms are available!
Update: we now have seven people signed up!
Watching a pretty good movie...Men of the Fighting Lady. Sure, it's a Hollywood flick, but it's based on actual accounts of Navy pilots in the Korean war and features combat footage of F9F Panther jets and the USS Oriskany (CV-34). Oriskany...sound familiar to anyone?

It's time to discuss the 2019 dive schedule for Central Indiana Scuba. We will first eat lunch at Los Cabos Mexican Grill beginning at 1:00 p.m., then discuss Midwest lakes and quarries to dive for the 2019 season (please note that we already have Lake Bluewater scheduled for March 30th for the hardy cold water divers). We will pick local locations, talk about upcoming warm water dive destinations (North Carolina 2019 and Bimini 2020, Middle Keys 2020). We will also discuss several non-dive trips during 2019 & 2020, where significant others will be welcome.
The meal will be in the private restaurant dining room, so please let the hostess know you are with Central Indiana Scuba when you arrive. This will be the best time to meet other new divers to the group as well as those experienced divers who have been with Central Indiana Scuba for years.
Please sign up on the Meetup website and plan on joining the group.
