Similar to how high heart❤ rates don’t necessarily mean fat 🔥burned, high respiratory rates don’t automatically result in improved fitness outcomes. Getting your sweat on and feeling a little breathless during exercise might give us a satisfying feeling and get the endorphins going. The reality is if the objective at every workout is to beat the body down, not only can we possibly overtrain, but also we can miss our specific fitness goals by only doing intense cardio. Reaching our fitness goals requires us to incorporate a balance of all "the things" which are, 🚶‍♀️🚶Cardio, Strength 💪Training, and Nutrition🥗! As always, have a great day!!!😀

Fitness/Weight Loss Myth #2: Heavier Breathing = a better workout.
True or False?

10/10/2022

So, it IS true that elevating the heart rate is connected to weight loss, BUT it's not the only thing. Thinking that raising the heart rate alone through exercise will result in weight loss is the real misbelief. Weight loss is a combination of things, calorie intake, heart rate, respiratory rate, exercise intensity, duration and type, just to name a few.
That means, whatever we put in our body is immediately burned off by raising the heart \rate.

To get the results we want on our fitness journey, we have to include all aspects of fitness in order to keep us moving in the right direction!

Unfortunately, this sometimes results in crash diets and/or misinformation about fitness and weight loss. Over the next several days I'll be sharing 7 common weight loss myths in hopes of informing and breaking some of these myths! Take care and see you soon!

6 Wellness Experts on Their Best Self Care Tips for Feeling More in Control 04/28/2020

"Wellness" is a word on the lips (and minds) of many these days. I'd like to add that wellness involves more than your "physical health". In my certification training wellness was defined as "a person's positive state of health comprised by physical and psychological well-being as seen in one's quality of life and sense of well-being." Wordy, I know. The point is, our wellness is more than being physically fit. It includes our mental and emotional health. Everyone I've talked to has been affected by the current health crisis, no matter who or where you are. As we make our way through this thing, together while living apart, self-care is a vital exercise. The article below offers a few helpful tips for self-care, and there are lots of other ways of self-care besides these. We're each a unique individual. What is helpful to one may not be so for another. The important thing is to find self-care practices that work for and support YOU. Thinking of you and yours and wishing health and wellness to all.

6 Wellness Experts on Their Best Self Care Tips for Feeling More in Control Whether you're working from home, in a hospital or not at all, it is important to make your mental health a priority as we all do our part to fight COVID-19.
