After visiting them during this year’s retreat, the people demanded it, and I must give the people what they want. I’ve loved returning to IU as a pre-med student. IU Indy offers a world class anatomy course, so if you’re looking for an intense, accredited course, I highly recommend it. If you’re interested in anatomy but not looking for that level of commitment, then this is for you!
Take a dive into musculoskeletal anatomy with this 9-part course designed to give you a solid framework for understanding the pieces of our bodies and how they interconnect. Using our own bodies, laminated skeletal layouts, and play dough for better three-dimensional understanding, we will systematically build our bodies covering the following material:
January 10: Introduction to Terminology + Bones of the Axial Skeleton
January 24: Bones of the Lower Limb
February 7: Bones of the Upper Limb
February 21: Muscles of the Axial Skeleton
March 7: Muscles of the Lower Limb
March 21: Muscles of the Upper Limb
April 4: Major Articulation: The Hip
April 18: Major Articulation: The Knee
May 2: Major Articulation: The Shoulder
This course will give you a basis for understanding other anatomical systems such as neuroanatomy and connective tissue (of the integumentary system). We’ll also be discussing the advantages and limitations that understanding anatomy have in relation to a Pilates practice as we will use exercises each class to put our material into context.
Each class is one hour- every other Saturday- at 1:45pm. They will be recorded with detail to the models we are building in case you cannot attend in person or would like to review. All recordings will be available throughout the full duration of the course and two weeks after.
Cost: $385

Come pop your b***y to girl power hip hop to benefit my foster dog Lizzie’s ongoing expenses. Is this class classical? Ehhhh… kind of? Traditional class framework and structure with a focus on hip mobility. Non traditional twerking variations. But definitely fun.
Both classes are 50 minutes. As always, we limit classes to 3 participants in apparatus and 6 participants in mat.
Requirements: Overall good physical health. A sense of humor.

Our signature Contrology series returns! Beginning April 19, join Jared on Saturdays at 1pm for this 5 week series learning how to get the absolute most out of your Pilates practice. You’ll build a solid foundation on the Reformer while exploring how it connects to the other apparatus in the studio. This is the perfect place to begin or to deepen your practice.
As always, our apparatus classes are limited to just 3 participants to ensure you get personal attention from your teacher. We have the space to expand our classes to larger sizes, but we know that smaller classes equals higher quality.

After over a year of beta testing, we are excited to officially offer Barbell class as add-on programming for our members who want extra focus on building bone density and muscle mass. Our Barbell program is based on the work of a contemporary of Joe Pilates and is designed to interface with your Pilates practice.
In this 30 minute class, you’ll prepare with a 5-minute Pilates warmup and lift weights for 25 minutes.
Our focus is safety through clean technique and smart progressions. We are so excited to offer a safe and effective way to specialize in strength: over the last year, we have had two clients in the beta program report that testing with their doctors showed increases in their muscle mass and bone density!
Barbell 1:
This first course of “body building and muscle-developing exercises” is for those new to weight lifting. We’ll get familiar with safely handling a barbell and focus mostly on bilateral exercises to build your foundation.
Mondays at 9:30am every other week
Fridays at 3:30pm every other week
Saturdays at 1:00pm every week
Barbell 2:
After you are comfortable and have spent some time with the exercises in course 1, you can increase the challenge by adding in course 2. These exercises require greater strength and balance.

is one of the TOUGHEST people I have ever met. (And strongest. His thighs are massive.) After his injury and subsequent knee surgery last season, he has built his entire life around not just recovering but excelling. Comeback? He never went anywhere. Also, he’s damn good at Pilates… thanks for giving him the best start.
