Its funny to me how some people are all about the high dollar brand name.. especially concerning fishing gear. Yeah.. I've had the pricey brands before on things, but didn't get anymore out of those things than a no name gave me. The bottom line for me is go with what you like... a VW will get you to work just like a bicycle will... and I can catch or not catch just as many fish with my $80 casting combo as the guy using the $800 combo or the $25 Walmart combo... the point is to get out there and make memories, take some pics and have a good time.

REDEMPTION!!!! We hit the lake after dinner tonight and I fished the lights and scored! Trolling a crank bait on the way to the lights I caught a pound and a halfish bass, then at the first light I caught a 21/2lb walleye, then at another light I caught a 61/4lb striper...yes..it was awesome...

So I've only been using baitcasters since last year when I got my first one...a work buddy got a new one and gave me the one he switched out. I've had nothing but problems trying to get it dialed in. After cutting out a huge bird nest, then fiddling around trying to cast, I think I got it...standing on the dock and casting about a dozen times..I caught a cat on a crank bait...after dinner we are going out again for a bit and see what happens.

Taking a break from fishing and waiting on dinner, then hit the lake later. They sprayed the foliage around the lake killing it so there is alot of brown around the bank. Every time they spray the lake with something the bite suffers...out for about 3 hours and only 2 in the boat( thanks to my honey)...I hope the bite is better after while..

Afternoon y'all.. we gonna go hit the lake in a while and wet some lines and hope for the best. Restrung my bait caster and 3 ultralight spinning reels last night so those will get broke in today. I hope to have some pics for y'all later...we are due for some nice fish..

Hey Y'all..
I know its been a minute since posting anything, but we been working on our health at home lately, taking advantage of the rain and wind by not fishing at the lake...we don't mind getting a little wet while out on the boat but we don't go out when its a downpour and high winds like the last couple weekends.
Some good news though.. I won "Most fish caught " at my company's fishing tournament with 15 bass caught in 2 hours which landed me a $100 Cabelas gift card. Yay Me!!

Man it's hot on the lake...fish aren't biting.. wife did catch a nice 'Lil bass....try again after dinner

Came out to the lake to fish....had to fix the bilge pump first...that took longer than it should have.....got that working...now waiting on temp to ease up..the lake don't bite when its real hot

Hit the lake today, air quality was bad and so was the fishing. Only catch was a little channel kitty...
