I’m sharing this match that happened yesterday in the semifinal of the absolute division at the IBJJF Houston Open, to highlight the importance of fighting and never giving up until the very last second. This is a rule in Jiu Jitsu, never quit. The match started with a beautiful sweep by my opponent, Eduardo Ponce, who applied a very technical lasso sweep right at the beginning. I was in a really bad position for about four minutes, but I managed to create some space and start working again, attacking and getting a reversal through an omoplata in the last five seconds of the match, winning a very tough battle. The technical level of the competition was really high, which motivates me even more to keep competing.
