More cool parts rolling in for this small block build/rebuild… a Shaver-Wesmar gear drive. Such a nice part. Shame to hide it behind a cover. Dad would say it’s bitchin. Dad would also say it’s cool that Bob Westphal was one of the original designers of and they worked together at Ed Pinks. Gonna be a fun summer. 👊🏻 💪🏻✌🏻

Sometimes the UPS driver is better than Santa Claus… Never had an aftermarket rod in a street engine. Looking forward to hearing this one run. Thank you for all the shiny parts. 😃 🙏🏻 ✌🏻

Haven’t had the intake off of this engine since 1988. 😬 Hadn’t started it in 10 years. Didn’t know what to expect. Would you look at that. Still looks pretty. 🤩
This is the engine I used in deuce when I first got it and was street racing it. Came from my dad. It was the first engine he had in his last green ‘55. Before that it came from my Uncle Bills ‘71 El Camino. It’s definitely been around the block. The family block. This is what I’m going to use in my ‘55 when it goes back together. 👊🏻✌🏻

Last week we were happy to help Jaren Mott upgrade his license at Gainesville during the PRO winter testing session. Brought back memories of doing the same 32 years ago. Time indeed flies. He did a great job and look forward to seeing where it goes for him. ✌🏻

As a kid, all I ever wanted to do was drive top fuel cars like my dad. I got the love of the sport from him. I learned how to make a living at it from Snake and Roland. Feel very fortunate to have been hooked up with some great sponsors, owners, crewchiefs and crews. Steve Torrence, Larry Dixon Jr., Del Worsham, and brothers Cruz Pedregon Racing and Tony Pedregon have been added to the NHRA’s Top 75 Drivers list. The five drivers join 20 previously announced drivers to complete the list, which is comprised of the original Top 50 Drivers from NHRA’s 50th Anniversary season in 2001 and 25 drivers from the modern era, as part of NHRA's 75th Anniversary season.
