INDY AREA TRAILS - BEST IN THE MIDWEST

Left Tuesday on my Ice Sprint X for a Tinker shop coffee stop to an Avon Texas Roadhouse salmon lunch back to a Circle chocolate square/coffee stop day, and got to see multiple accounts of Indy trail system progress ... what a day.

Mission Indy contacted a group from the Northwest Church of Christ from Peoria, IL, for restoring the new B&O Rail Trail tunnel under Girl School Road. High school-age artists did a wonderful job of turning the tunnel walls into a mural masterpiece.

Spoke with Peyton, the Public Service IN project manager for the only unfinished short part of the B&O Rail Trail at Country Club Rd.. They fashioned a large storage system for the water overflow problem that the nearby property owners were having, to allow finishing the trail. The trail's freshly finished a stone's throw from both directions from the crossover. He said the project should be finished sometime in August ... completing the trail to Henricks Co 350E.

The coffee/salmon lunch/chocolate-coffee dessert stops were wonderful. The ride was full of options for coffee/cafes/activities. Taking the Nickel Plate @ shop parking lot to the Monon to the Cultural Trail to B&O RT is always fun and full of the unexpected ...

The new Nickel Plate rail trail has opened south of I465 ... It's finished up to the gravel in the picture. Thère are still a few minor details and comprehensive signage needed.

I leave on my tadpole from the store's parking lot every rain-free day. Rides range from 15 to 70 miles ... Pleasure rides ... I always stop for coffee and a meal somewhere else.

The Nickel Plate joins the Monon...the Cultural Trail...the B&O now finished to 350E in Hendricks Co!!! ...all from the parking lot...no traffic...smooth riding.

Indy/Central IN has the best tadpole riding of any part of the country I've ridden in ... trail quality & coffee shop - cafe choices like nowhere else.

WE WANT TO DO TRIKE GROUP RIDES THIS SUMMER. WE'RE THINKING OF LEAVING THE PARKING LOT ON SATURDAYS AT 10 AM. WE'RE INTERESTED IN FEEDBACK AND INCLUDING TRIKE RIDERS OF ALL TYPES AND AGES.

JERRY AND I KICKED THE SEASON OFF LAST WEEKEND RIDING ON THE NICKEL PLATE AND MONON ON A 1/2 CENTURY (50 MI) RIDE TO SHERIDAN AND BACK. IT WAS SO NICE!

NEXT SATURDAY, THE 17TH, HAS A SUNSHINE 78 DEGREE WEATHER FORECAST. GROUP OR NOT, I'LL PROBABLY HEAD FOR THE CULTURAL TRAIL DOWNTOWN INDY.
