700 completed workouts/training sessions since 2/9/17. I hired which was reynolds strong at the time…either way, and have been my coaches. I will be posting more about what i have learned along my strength training journey. I still have a ways to go but sticking to this work has truly refined me in ways i did not expect. A good end to my year. A win. Happy new year.

My breakfast game is solid. Here are my staple items...egg whites, power flapjacks (good protein and fiber), xtreme wellness tortilla, veggies - today’s scramble is spinach, tomato, black bean and avocado...topped with salsa...I am on purpose with my food. That also means I don’t fart around at night because I have to get up a little earlier to make a good breakfast for me and my crew...

Breakfast today. Egg whites. Fresh diced peppers and chopped spinach. Rolled oats. Beans. Salsa. I’ll add a fruit to my oats. I pretty much eat this every morning. My wife and I are moving towards plant focused - not giving up meat but a conscious effort to eat more veggies and sub out about 25 grams of protein each day from meat to veggies. Stay tuned for more.

Haven’t posted any lifts for a while! Here is a 10lb PR 465 deadlift for 2 sets of 1...I am working towards a big 3 year goal@of hitting the 2-3-4-5 club. 200 press, 300 bench, 400 squat and 500 deadlift hit in the same week...getting close. Quarantine has been a strain on the emotional system but I am still@getting stronger. My body is an asset to me...not a liability. It gives me confidence.

I train with a barbell today...FOR...tomorrow. See as we age, we naturally lose our ability to generate force -AKA strength. For me, I was looking for a MEASURE of my health....I chose lean mass and strength. If I can optimize those two, I health would be a result. You can actually drive lean mass up and strength up even as you get past 40...It’s been paying off. There are a lot of narratives that cardio was the best option to get healthy. It has been my personal understanding that the evidence behind that exercise prescription is starting to be replaced by the evidence backing up strength training. (Maybe it’s a proper combo of both.) The barbell also has required me to understand and maximize my nutrition...kind of important. Part of me thinks the globe might be attacking the wrong problem. What if HEALTH is the issue? How might you train health (along with diet). And KNOW it’s working...maybe as simple as how much ya squat bro?

Been thinking about a home gym????

I quietly launched Executive Barbell behind the scenes a few years ago. It’s all I do now. Online strength coaching for busy leaders, executives and heath driven life athletes. I am fully committed in 2020 to help executives learn about the health benefits of barbell lifting and owning your own gym...seems like NOW would be a great time to call me! I’ll help you get started in the right direction. Seriously...I love talking gym stuff so give me a call. Back to work.
