Save The Date and join us at GoldLeaf with our co-hosts Catron Property Group for our 2nd Annual Hot Dignity Dog, hot dog eating competition. For our second year, we are excited to extend proceeds to our friends at Boulevard Place Food Pantry to assist those in our community in need. It all happens Saturday October 3rd from 12-3pm!

It is with great sorrow we post our friend and volunteer, Grim Solo, passed away today in the early morning hours. Grim started volunteering in 2014 after becoming a Naptown Roller Derby fan. Grim researched leagues near him that he could get involved with after watching the movie “Whip It”, and it reminded him of how much he loved watching banked track derby as a kid.
Volunteer seems like such a small word to describe such a fantastic person who gave so much to his community. Grim was ready to step into any position that needed a helping hand. He held our Merchandise Coordinator position since 2014. He joined the training committee in 2021, and played a pivotal part in keeping NRD active post-covid. Roller Kuester reminisced on those post-covid rebuilding moments stating, “When we reformed the TC coming out of covid it was just Grim, Amelia, and me. He was such a driving force to getting Naptown back to having public events again.”
Grim loved roller coasters, movies, vampires, chicken alfredo, and mac n’ cheese. Most of all, Grim loved going on trips with the youth group at his local church. Grim disliked people who are rude and inconsiderate of other people, animals, and the environment. His pre-bout song was “Try Everything” by Shakira!
Naptown Roller Derby cannot even begin to describe how much this human means to us. Our league is forever changed with his passing. At this time, we hold his loved ones in our thoughts and ask the community to do the same. With heartfelt respect, Naptown honors Grim Solo’s legacy and offers support to all who are grieving.
