Day 3 - Skipped the warm-up session to save the kart. The way our luck was for the past two days. We didn't want to risk it. Lined up 21st for the prefinal. Lap 1, turn 4. A bumper tip was put into our LF wheel and broke the valve stem. We pulled off with a flat tire and settled for a 31st place finishing position.

We had absolutely nothing to lose starting in 31st in a 31 kart field. Our driver went out to get the best finishing position he could. The backup kart and engine were nearly perfect. He drove a great race advancing 17 positions in the 16 lap race.

Runs like that ease the frustration of the rest of the event for sure. It was a great finish for us after the event we had.

A full event wrap-up with additional pictures coming soon.

Morning session went okay. Still need a bit of help getting into the corner. Made some changes and now waiting for our first heat race.

Day 2, Practice and two heats. Here's hoping for a better day today. We qualified 20th out of 31 times. Dry today, sun is shining.

Wasn't a good FP2. Brake failure and a collision with a light pole. Trashed chassis. Pulled out the spare and got it ready for qualifications.

Dress for current conditions. Skipped FP1 due to precipitation. Changed over to full wet setup. 1 hour till FP2

Weekend and Season Update - Sorry for the lack of updates the past recently. The racing takes a whole different feel when it's a wet race. This last season event was no different. We ran wet tires in all three sessions. Practice/Quals (P4), Heat race (P5), and Final (P3). Under some tough conditions, Riley did great adapting and continued our awesome season with another podium finish. I couldn't be prouder of the racer and man he has become.

We didn't know what to expect as we entered the 206 Sr Lite class for the first time this season. I believe we exceeded any expectations. Along with the season championship, we raced a Regional Series (Route 66) and a National Series (WKA Gold Cup) this year.

WRP 206 Sr Lite - 12 Races - (1) 2nd, (4) 3rd, (2) 4th, (2) 5th, (2) 6th, and (1) 10th
(3) Pole Position
(4) Fastest Race Lap

4th place in Seasion Championship (unofficial)

Route 66 Sprint Series (4 races)- 10th Place
WKA Gold Cup (3 races) - 5th Place

Thanks to our sponsors, . They came on board at the beginning of the off season and their support made it possible to run in the regional series.

Thank you to . Some of the best people on the grid and we are happy to have continued our association with this team and look forward to see what 2024 brings.

Last but not least, thanks to all the followers of Riley's racing, it means a lot to see the comments and reactions on the social media posts. It really lifts the spirits on the bad events to know you all are behind us. Let us know if you wanna come to the track to watch in person. We would like to see you there.

Stay tuned for a formal announcement of our 2024 plans. It's going to be exciting for sure.
Happy Holidays and we will see you from Daytona to close out the calendar year!

Weekend Update - What a weekend! Damp track on dry tires (P11), drying track on wet tires (P4) and wet track on wet tires (P3). Another good run for the Turtle team.

Season Championship finale is Oct 29.

Weekend Update - Another good weekend for the Turtle team. It was a cold evening event at WRP and the question of how the temperatures would affect the karts. That question was answered quickly as we had a good practice session, and then qualified P1. We led the first 5 laps of the heat race and was passed in the lower hairpin by the eventual winner of the heat. Finishing 3rd in the heat race gave us the inside of row two position for the Final.

As the green rag dropped, we found ourselves slotting in line in the 4th position. Multiple events with another competitor relegated us back to a P6 finishing position. One bright spot, we had the fastest lap of the race again for the 3rd race in a row (and 2nd fastest qualifier in a row). Not the finished we hoped for, but we will take it and come back next weekend to challenge again.

Thanks again for all of the support. We couldn't do it without you. Congrats to in finding victory lane again!

It's Raceday! Sun is shining on the crisp, cool fall afternoon. First practice session in less than an hour.

Great way to finish the weekend. Started 2nd in the final, and fell to 3rd after a few laps. Ran there for the rest of the laps and finished 3rd. After a tech violation of the 2nd place kart, we were awarded 2nd place.

We also had the fastest lap for both finals this weekend. Great weekend for the team. Now for a couple of weeks off to recoup from a busy summer.

Lined up in pole position for the heat race. Fell to 2nd on the start and ran there the entire race. Finished 2nd, will line up outside front row in the feature.

Had a good qualifying run. Set fast time in quals, will start P1 in Pre-final. More to come.

Another cool morning at . Practice session over, learning a new track layout for the day. Riley and the kart felt good. More to come.

Good finish to a good overall day. We started 2nd in the final, and on the start, the P3 starter got past us in turn 1. For the next 12 laps or so, the top three cars were one to tail and opening a gap over 4th place.

Then the race was on between the top three. The lead of the race shuffled a couple of times, with Riley remaining on their bumpers. Coming to the twin checkers, Riley made a couple of moves, but couldn't get it done.

Riley pushed to a .005 margin of victory, and finished in 3rd himself trailing winner by .130 seconds

Great finish to a clean race. Back tomorrow for a different layout and some more karting action.

In staging for the 6 lap heat race. Starting 3rd.

Had a great run, finished 2nd. Will start the 15-lap final in P2.

Looking back on the qualifying run. The track came to us a bit. Had a P3 run, will start there in our heat race. Up in about 2 hours.

Rolling out for practice. It's cool this morning. Will be asking a lot of the tires. Practice went well. Qualifying up next!

Sunrise on raceday!! Double header today and tomorrow.

After the disappointing Saturday at the event, Sunday brought a much better overall feeling to close out the weekend and the 2023 series. The morning brought a damp track for the warmup session. We and most of the class skipped the warmup and tuned on the kart for Heat 2. Starting in 11th, a large off-track excursion by most of our field allowed Riley to scoot up the inside and take the lead for a couple of laps.

It took about 2-1/2 laps for the faster karts to reach the Turtle and get past him for position. The rest of the 10 laps was a constant battle as karts fought for position. Near the end, Riley spun himself out, relegating us to an 11th place finish.

We made some changes to the kart, closer to what we had on Friday, and it woke the kart back up. Riley drove smoothly and focused as he worked around a couple of karts. His own off-track excursion slowed his pace, and he ran by himself after he rejoined. The focus paid off as he gained on the 7th place kart who was about 3 seconds in front of him. As the gap narrowed, the kart he was chasing slipped off and back onto the track and lost a second to Riley. Now, 1.6 secs back, Riley had the kart in his sights with five laps to go. At the checkered flag, Riley crossed the finish line only .2 second off the bumper and finished in 8th.

Overall, the weekend was a good weekend, and we were happy with our finishes in the Sr 206 class in the Route 66 Sprint Series for the first time.

Now, back to the home track this weekend for a double show.

Disappointing day 2 of the event. After trying a few things in the morning sessions, we didn't make the advances we had hoped. We were a but slower in Qualifying than we had been in practice, so we started 8th in Heat 1.

After an early spin, we were spectators for most of the event, so we will start near the back in Heat 2.

Morning warm-uo, Heat 2 and Final today. Then the load up and trek home.

day one in the books. Three practice sessions completed, three decent sessions for us. Three more practice sessions on day two before qualifying and a heat race.

Ready for FP1. 2:24 track time.

Going out for the final. Another frustrating event. Started 7th, and finished sixth. Was a second off the pace, couldn't figure out why. Then found out we might gave had a bent chassis. threw us on the table tonight and hopefully we will be a little bit better. We will see. Different track tomorrow, for a practice and two finals.

In the garage waiting for our Prefinal. Starting 6th in the prefinal. Let's see what happens. Thanks to and for the use of the garage this weekend!
