A special moment for our academy as Coach Zaide earns her black belt! 🖤

Years on the mats, countless hours of training, coaching, learning, competing, and continuing to show up have led to this moment.

But this one means a little more than a new belt. Every time one of our women reaches this level, the girls coming up behind them get to see what’s possible. They get to train with a female black belt, learn from one, and hopefully believe that one day that belt can be theirs too.

We’re excited for this next chapter and even more excited for the next generation of girls and women coming up on our mats.

Flow Limitless starts at Indio on Thursday, October 1.

Adaptive martial arts for kids and teens, ages 6 to 17, all abilities. Thursdays. The free class on October 1 is 3:15 to 4:00.

Here is what we actually built. The class runs the same five parts in the same order every single week, so nothing is a surprise. Every skill is taught at three levels at the same time, so no child is the one who cannot do it. And tap means stop — one tap, one word, or your child's own signal, and everything stops immediately, no convincing.

First class is free.

25 years ago today, our country lost 2,977 people: mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends. And hundreds of firefighters, police officers and first responders gave everything running toward the danger.

Jiu-jitsu teaches us that strength means protecting the person next to you. On September 11th, heroes showed us what that truly looks like.

Today the Flow Academy family pauses to honor them. We will never forget.

Hace 25 años, nuestro país perdió a 2,977 personas: madres, padres, hijos, hijas, amigos. Y cientos de bomberos, policías y socorristas lo dieron todo corriendo hacia el peligro.

El jiu-jitsu nos enseña que la verdadera fuerza es proteger a quien está a tu lado. El 11 de septiembre, los héroes nos mostraron lo que eso significa.
