Join us Saturday, June 13th for a special night of racing, remembrance, and honoring those who have served our country.

Headlining the night will be the BG Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series as they make their first appearance of the season at Citrus County Speedway in a 40-lap feature event! 🏁🔥

🇺🇸 FREE GRANDSTAND ADMISSION for all Veterans and Active Duty Military!

We’re proud to honor two local racing veterans, Chuck Kanehl and Rob Roder.

Chuck, a Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, has been a familiar face at Citrus County Speedway for the past several years. He is a member of the Aaron A. Weaver Chapter 776 Military Order of the Purple Heart and remains active in several local and national Purple Heart organizations.

Rob Roder is a combat wounded veteran and two-time Navy Achievement Medal recipient who continues to exemplify service, dedication, and perseverance both on and off the racetrack.

Fans will have the opportunity to visit and sign both drivers’ race cars on the grandstand side before the races. Chuck and Rob will then compete later in the evening in their respective Ford feature events.

Special Missing Man Salutes will take place throughout the night as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

⛈️Due to this weekend’s rainout, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our May 30th Honor To Our Veterans Event. The entire event has now been rescheduled to Saturday, June 13th, including the BG Southern Sprint Cars.

This was an extremely difficult decision to make, especially considering the incredible men and women we planned to honor that night, we had no choice but to move forward in postponing the event. We felt it was important to make sure this event receives the atmosphere, attention, and turnout these heroes truly deserve.

We still fully plan to honor local veterans Chuck Kanehl and Rob Roder along with all veterans, active duty military, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom during the rescheduled event on June 13th.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the track soon. 🇺🇸🏁

🇺🇸 HONORING OUR LOCAL HEROES 🇺🇸

For the last 6-7 years, Purple Heart Recipient, Bronze Star Recipient, and Vietnam Veteran Chuck Kanehl has been a familiar face racing at Citrus County Speedway. Chuck is a member of the Aaron A. Weaver Chapter 776 Military Order of the Purple Heart along with several other local and national Purple Heart organizations.

Joining him will be fellow local racing veteran Rob Roder, a two-time Navy Achievement Medal recipient and combat wounded veteran who has proudly served our country both in and out of uniform.

Before the races, both veterans will have their race cars displayed on the grandstand side for fans to stop by, visit, and sign before competing later in the night in their respective Ford features.

Special Missing Man Salutes will also take place throughout the evening as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
