This is a Turkish orange eggplant, not only was it very prolific, it also survived the 2023/2024 mild winter.

Lettuce is one of the few crops that can be grown in a float system. The only problem with that, is that most varieties are not heat tolerant. Therefore, the float system does not get much use half the year.

This series of pictures were taken in February 2024. Most the plants you see are cherry tomato plants growing in the grow beds. The red dots are ghost peppers from a potted plant. The green house pond not only protects the fish and grow bed plants from the cold, but I also have room to throw a few cold sensitive potted plants in there, on cold nights.

Nature Coast Aquaponics is located in North Central Florida, so we can still get some cold winters. Tilapia will die if the water gets down to 46 degrees. I have two ponds, the smaller one has a wood frame, so I am able to strap 3/4 pvc to make the arches and cover it with plastic sheeting. Each side is strapped to a 20 ft 2 " pipe, and I have pole stands on both sides so I can roll it up and set the pipe on the stands for easy access to feed the fish and check the plants.

Thank you to everyone who visits my aquaponic page. I'm sorry I have not been very active lately. While I am still maintaining a few active systems, I have had some health issues that have slowed me down. I have also started another venture, that is less physically demanding, producing music.

Nature Coast Aquaponics has been blessed with another successful brood of blue tilapia. We will be giving away 20 free juveniles to the first three people that reply to this post. The juveniles are much larger than the fry shown here. No shipping. Must be able to pick up in Inverness, Florida.

Besides all our aquaponic systems, we are also growing corn with traditional methods.
