Nutcracker Costume Day! 🎄🩰

Today was a big day at the studio as we worked through more than 160 costume assignments for this year’s Nutcracker!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us today. Costume fitting day takes a lot of extra hands, and we are so grateful for the people who jumped in to help keep everything moving.

The Nutcracker season is officially underway and we are so excited for these dancers!

Nutcracker parts were announced yesterday, and we are officially in the Nutcracker spirit! 🎄

Every role plays an important part in bringing this magical production to life. Whether a dancer is a mouse, soldier, angel, party guest, flower or featured character, each one is essential to telling the story. We hope every dancer feels proud of their part and excited for the season ahead.

We look forward to a wonderful Nutcracker season filled with hard work, friendship and plenty of holiday magic!

🩰Halfway through our first week of dance! 🩰

It has been so much fun welcoming our dancers back to the studio and meeting so many new faces this week! We’re sharing a few of the sweet “first day of dance” photos we’ve received so far.

Parents — keep them coming! If you snapped a first-day photo before heading to the studio, share it in the comments or send it our way in the BAND app. We’d love to celebrate our dancers and share more throughout the week!

We’re only halfway through Week 1, and there’s already so much excitement in the studio. Here’s to a great 2026–2027 dance season!

The studio has been way too quiet, and we’re ready to fill it with dancers again!

Our 2026–2027 season officially begins the week of August 31, and we can’t wait to see familiar faces, welcome new dancers and get back to doing what we love.

🩰 Don't Forget! Second Skin is Coming to NMDA!

Dance season is almost here, which means it's time to make sure your dancer is ready for the year!

Second Skin will be at Northern Michigan Dance Academy with ballet shoes, tights, leotards, and all of the dance essentials you'll need for the season. Their team will be available to help with sizing, so it's an easy way to check everything off your list before classes begin.

Dance Registration is NOW OPEN!

We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another incredible season at Northern Michigan Dance Academy!

Returning families: Your class placement email has been sent along with your registration link. Please register by August 12 so we can finalize classes and prepare for the season.

New families: We'd love to have you join us! Register using the link on our website, and we'll review your dancer's age and experience to confirm the best class placement before the season begins.

Whether it's your dancer's very first class or another year in the studio, we're excited to help them grow in confidence, technique, and a love of dance.

Registration Opens This Friday!

We're so excited to kick off another season at Northern Michigan Dance Academy!

📧 Returning families: Watch your email on Friday! You'll receive your dancer's class placement along with a personalized registration link to reserve their spot for the 2026–2027 season.

New Students: Registration will open on our website. Please register and allow time for class placement.

🗓️ Please complete your registration by August 12. This allows us time to finalize class rosters, prepare class materials, and ensure we're ready to welcome our dancers for the new season.

Nutcracker information and registration details will be shared in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on your inbox for those updates as well.

🌞 Summer Ballet Classes – Tonight’s Classes Canceled 🌞

Due to the extreme heat, we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s ballet classes.

While our studio room is air conditioned, the rest of the studio is not, and we want to ensure our dancers, families, and staff are comfortable and safe.

A make-up class will be held on Tuesday, August 4, at the same class time.

If your dancer is unable to attend the make-up class, please email us and we will reimburse today’s class.

Thank you for your understanding. Stay cool, and we’ll see everyone back in the studio soon!
