2026 UC IRVINE ANTI CANCER CHALLENGE

Athletes, alumni, and friends, we would love to have you join us on Saturday, October 10th at 8:45am in Aldrich Park for the 5k run/walk.

The UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge is an annual fundraiser for UCI cancer research. This is a great opportunity to come together as the UCI Rowing community to support a great cause. We hope to see you there.

UCI Women’s Rowing is thrilled to welcome Mike Homes back to our boathouse as the varsity women’s head coach.

While Mike Homes is best known within our program for his history as the women’s head coach from 2022-2024, he also had a long standing, successful coaching career prior to his time with our varsity women.

He began his career coaching at Purdue in 1997, with his longest tenure being at UCSB, where he would go on to lead their women to 3 ACRA gold medals, 4 consecutive team points wins, and was named ACRA Coach of the Year twice and West Coast Region ACRA Coach of the Year 4 times running.

A huge thank you to Coach Connor Breen for his time as the women’s head coach for Irvine Crew.

For the past two years, despite every challenge, Coach Connor has carried with him an unwavering support for all of his athletes both on and off the water.

The perseverance of your kindness has left a lasting impact on the program. It was a pleasure having you as a part of the Irvine legacy.

We celebrated the 2025-2026 season with our coaches and graduating senior’s at this year’s boathouse banquet. Incredibly proud of all of the hard work we put in this season, and it will be sad to say goodbye to so many familiar faces. But, UCI Crew is excited and ready for the bright future ahead of us! 💙💛

ACRA is over, the dust has settled, but the fire has been ignited.

UC Irvine took 58 athletes to Tennessee, made several Petite Finals and was the only team in the nation to bring a W2N. We say goodbye to 21 athletes this season, and begin the process of rebuilding.

We would like to thank every parent, alumni, athlete and coach that made this season what it was. Our program would be nothing without your generosity and commitment.
