3EG - Third Eye Gathering

One of our favorite bands on the planet and 3EG alum is Karnivool. Their album “Sound Awake” in my humble opinion is right up their with Tool’s “Lateralus” as one of the best rock albums in history. I am unbelievably excited to tell you they are doing a livestream May 12 celebrating the anniversary of this AMAZING album and playing new tunes as well. I doubt any of you reading this do not know who they are but if you don’t...you’re welcome, you have your next years obsession.

So pumped to be able to see one of my all time favorite bands again. Strata is playing the troubadour Jan 3rd. It’s gonna great to see them play and get a hug from all of my friends that I haven’t seen is such a long time. Go to ticketweb, they are opening for Los Stellarians. I know its been quiet on the Western front from 3EG but not in Texas. I wanted to share a band worthy of your love. The band is called "To Whom It May" and their newly released CD entitled "the Great Filter" is an incredible album. I have had it on constant rotation for about a week now and am looking forward to spending even more time with it. Our dear friend and 3EG alum Dean Dichoso (Mondoz, Dead End Amelia) produced it and his fingerprints are all over it...one thing is for sure is I know great music and so do you guys...if you haven't heard these guys yet you are in for a treat...

Before MySpace and Facebook there was TOOLARMY https://www.toolband.com/tool-army. This was the first Social Network I had ever been involved with. There had not even been a term coined social network yet. It was a social experiment that really brought out the best and the worst in the members that were on that website. I’ve been spending a lot of time with the new “Disillusioned” track from A Perfect Circle and it makes me think of the days with my first taste of the social network and how it was much more than any of us thought. A lot of people don’t know this but before there was Third Eye Gathering there was Toolgathering where we all got together in Vegas to celebrate all of our unique taste in art and music through the shared connection of TOOL. This was all inspired from the website TOOLARMY and now it just seems like it was the beginning of Pandora’s box opening up
