I drove over to Wrightwood with the 360 camera on Saturday from Crestline to see how the village and Sky High fared with the fire. You really don't see much burn area until you get to the west end of town. The ranches on the right as you drive up Highway 2 are still there and that's about it. The left side going up the mountain still has most of the trees, thanks to the efforts of the Mountain High crew turning on the snowmaking system as the fire overwhelmed the resort.

Here's the 360° video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGNjOPgHkas

The Los Angeles Times posted this article the next day, on Sunday; https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2024-10-20/how-snow-crews-saved-a-california-ski-area-from-wildfire

Amid explosions and darkened skies, the crew at Mountain High ski resort jumped into action, firing up a hundred snow cannons to douse the flames with water.

The tape on the poles was removed because the protestors taped their signs to the poles and staff was directed to remove everything from the poles. I'll be back out next Sunday to re-tape the poles.
