Rehearsal prior to the tribute to our vadyar, Swamimalai Rajaratnam on what would have been his 95th birthday
It is heartening to see the next generation in the diaspora stepping forward to embrace the arts. Kudos to them for pursuing their passion.
Here is Manognya Bellamkonda (Arpana grad 2018), a Telugu-speaking youngster by birth, making her playback singing debut in a Tamil film. Wishing her every success!!

July 3 an evening that rekindled memories of a remarkable guru, Sri Swamimalai K. Rajaratnam. On what would have been his 95th birthday, disciples, dancers and patrons gathered at the Music Academy Mini Hall, Chennai. Short offerings of his choreography by some of his disciples were followed by the Dr. Padma Subramanyam’s recollections of her encounters with him@in their early days at Vazhuvur Ramiah Pillai’s home.
