🌊💦 What a day at Wild Rivers! Our Polar Bear Grand Prize Challenge winners made a big splash celebrating summer with their well-earned reward 🏆🐻‍❄️ We’re so proud of our year-round swimmers and loved seeing everyone who participated. Can’t wait to see who takes on the cold season this winter ❄️ and what fun awaits us next year!

Swimmer Spotlight

⭐️ Hubery Chen is our Swimmer Spotlight. Hubery most recently lead speed aquatics in Summer Age Group Championships medaling in all 6 of his events in the 10 and under age group. This absolute all star impressively keeps up and excels in our speed 5 group while maintaining an impressive legacy at our adjacent program North Irvine Waterpolo. With his talent and determination Hubery has a great future in swimming and/or any athletics he chooses to pursue. ⭐️

Favorite Food: 🍪 🍝 Cookies, Pasta, Chicken Alfredo, & Ramen 🍜

Favorite place 🎢: Six Flags, Knotts Berry Farm, Disney Adventure, & Universal

Proud of our swimmers for representing Speed Aquatics with heart and hustle at age group Max! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

From first-time competitors to our Speed 4 & 5 veterans, we triumphed at this meet. Top swimmers went all out and were rewarded with medals, ribbons, and huge time drops across the board! 🏅💥

Huge shoutout to Yoojoon Son for qualifying in two events at SAG, which was our top goal for the meet! 🙌

Swimmer Spotlight

⭐️ Matthew is a Competitive speed 5 swimmer who has set an excellent example of how to progress through the levels of speed by listening & making corrections. He never gives up when sets get tough & has great sportsmanship.⭐️

Favorite Food 🥩🍟: Steak and Fries or Vietnamese Soup with Rice and Noodles 🍜🍚

Favorite place 🌍🎢: Disneyworld or EPCOT Park because there it includes TRON , Test Track, and Expedition Everest .

Favorite Stroke 🏊: Breaststroke because to me it is the most relaxing and my fastest stroke. Freestyle is a close second .

Favorite hobbies 📚: Reading both fiction and non fiction, specifically fantasy and history, like Heroes of Olympus (Percy Jackson sequel), Eragon, and Wings of Fire. I also like listening to music 🎶.

🏊‍♂️ June Championship Meet Recap! 🏊‍♀️
Our team showed up BIG this weekend and left it all in the pool!

🌟 Hubery dominated with Top 8 in all 6 events!
🥈🥈🥈 3 Silvers, 🥉 1 Bronze, plus 4th & 7th — absolute machine!

🌟 Summer came back in most of her events and snagged 3 medals, with her highest finish 🥉 in the 50 Fly — flying fast and fierce!

🌟 Our sibling duo Maite & Hernon crushed it medaling in two events!
🥉 Maite placed 8th in Backstroke
🥉 Hernon took 6th in Breast

🎉 So many swimmers made it back for consolation finals, and we couldn’t be more proud of the entire squad:
Xeni, Ian, Yoojoon, Kyson, Yeva, Fiori, and Julian — you gave it your all and made us proud!

🏆 As a team, we finished 12th overall in team scores!
