The Region 8 Travel Trophy season's end event was held On Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Orange County Model Sailing Club, Mason Park, Irvine, California. Registrations were limited to 17 skippers to accommodate one fleet. It was an extraordinary day for racing 16 heats, with mid 80 temperatures, consistent winds and bright glorious sunshine.
Awards were given by Len Bose, AMYA President and Region 8 Travel Trophy originator, to Jess Atkinson 1st with 28 pts, Keith Ives 2nd with 42 pts, and Larry Grant 3rd with 49 pts. Other top finishers were Dennis Rogers 4th with 60 pts and Stephan Cohen 5th with 72 points. Complete scores below.
Don Frakes was PRO. Scorekeepers were Bob "Shoe" Schumacher, Alex Brown and Rock Kendall.

A gorgeous sunny August 1st day with steady winds for the monthly one meter points race of the Orange County Model Sailing Club at Mason Park in Irvine, California. 11 IOM skippers raced 12 heats. Complete scores are attached.
