Lina Collado , recipient of our Women's Grand Scholarship, reached the Enclosure -- the second-highest point in the Teton Range. Lina is a Puerto Rican, a photojournalist, a teacher of English as a second language, and a community advocate. This year, she joined an all women's guided trip up the Grand Teton, involving two days of training and two days climbing up the Grand.

A storm prevented the group from reaching the summit of the Grand Teton, but they were able to summit the Enclosure, just to the west and 500 ft below. The Enclosure is an especially important place in the Tetons. The ring of rocks on top of the Enclosure is believed to have been used on "vision quests" by Shoshone and other Indigenous peoples.

For Lina, like many of us, the time in the mountains was transformative, changing her perspective on this place we call home forever and, making new connections to her climbing partners. Read more at https://buff.ly/DFKC7lo

Thanks to all of our supporters and partners who have made the Women's Grand Scholarship possible since its inception in 2023, which marked the 100th anniversary of the first female ascent of the Grand Teton. and Dawn Rucker

Earlier this year, we established a fund to enable us to provide this scholarship every year in perpetuity. Through Sept 18, support this and other work by donating through Old Bill's, where your donation will be matched. https://buff.ly/Vgr0EWw

* We initiated the Delta Lake Trail Project in partnership with Grand Teton National Park Foundation and the Access Fund, helping restore one of GTNP’s most heavily impacted trails.
* We established the Women’s Grand Scholarship Fund, a permanent fund designed to ensure that the Women’s Grand Scholarship—a needs-based, all-women, fully guided ascent of the Grand Teton—continues in perpetuity.
