Founded in 1991, IGMD is the longest-running organization for ballet pianists and dance musicians with members across the globe.

IGMD offers resources, discussion groups, conferences, retreats, and a like-minded community to its members. The International Guild of Musicians in Dance (IGMD) is an organization dedicated to fostering collaborative relationships between dancers and musicians. IGMD was formed in Brockport, NY in the winter of 1990 to address the particular concerns of musicians working the the field of art dance, and to promote its members' efforts in the field.
