Shared today from Steve Moore.
We lost another great friend coworker. Brent Mayle passed away earlier this week. Most of us remember a quiet man who was the Manager of the Traffic Department, shipping and receiving. Might have been quiet, but a great boss and friend too.
Please keep Brent's family and friends in your prayers. May Brent be at hus eternal rest.

Honoring Heroes and Loved Ones:
A Memorial Day Message from Bishop Erik Pohlmeier
As we gather to observe Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the courageous men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Their dedication and valor have secured the freedoms we cherish today, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that words alone cannot express.
Jesus teaches us, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” This profound expression of love and sacrifice is embodied in the lives of those who have served and died for our country. Their willingness to place the well-being of others above their own is a testament to the highest ideals of our faith and humanity.
Today, we honor the memory of our fallen heroes, recognizing their bravery and the immeasurable impact of their sacrifice. Let us ensure their legacy endures by living lives worthy of their commitment.
As we reflect on their service, we are called to support and comfort the families who have lost loved ones. Jesus promises, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” May we, as a community of faith, offer our prayers and tangible support to those who grieve, providing them with the comfort and hope that comes from God’s promise.
While we specifically honor those who have given their lives in service to our country, we also extend our remembrance to all our loved ones who have gone home to the Lord. Their lives, filled with love and meaning, continue to touch us and inspire us. Let us hold their memories in our hearts, drawing strength from the faith that promises us eternal life in Christ.
Today, we especially thank God for the memories of all who have gone before us, and we pray for their eternal rest in the presence of our Savior.
On this Memorial Day, let us renew our commitment to peace and justice, striving to build a world where such sacrifices are no longer necessary. As we remember the fallen and all our departed loved ones, may we also work tirelessly to uphold the values for which they fought, ensuring that their sacrifice continues to inspire and guide us.
Yours in Christ,
Most Rev. Erik T. Pohlmeier
Bishop of St. Augustine
