Today, we honor the life and legacy of Charlie Neal — a true pioneer, storyteller, and champion for Black college athletics.

His voice carried history.
His presence carried excellence.
His dedication to preserving and celebrating the culture of HBCU sports impacted generations.

The Bob Hayes Invitational Gala was honored to experience his support, passion, and commitment to the legacy. Charlie Neal understood the importance of celebrating those who paved the way while continuing to inspire the next generation to dream bigger, move forward, and honor where they come from.

We are grateful for the time, dedication, and heart he poured into this community and so many others around the country. His contributions will never be forgotten, and his voice will continue to echo through the stories, memories, and lives he touched.
