We’re proud to support the 2027 Florida Regional Boccia Tournament hosted by the Tampa Bay Sharks Boccia Club! 🔵🏆 🦈

At Brooks Rehabilitation, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to find community, stay active and experience the joy of sport. We’re excited to support an event that brings athletes with disabilities — including veterans — together to compete, connect and challenge themselves through Boccia.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to expand opportunities for adaptive athletes across Florida. 💙

Closing out SCI Awareness Month with some of our amazing participants! 💙

While this month is dedicated to raising awareness for spinal cord injury, the conversation shouldn’t end here.

We’ll continue working to create greater awareness around the realities, possibilities, and opportunities of living with an SCI — and to build a community where everyone has the opportunity to stay active, connected, and engaged.

Applications are now open for CAF Grants! 🎉

This is a fantastic opportunity for adaptive athletes to receive financial support toward reaching their goals. The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) provides funding for athletes with physical disabilities to help cover expenses such as:

🏀 Adaptive sports equipment
💪 Training and coaching
🏆 Competition expenses
✈️ Travel and more

CAF Grants are highly competitive, so submit your application as soon as you can!

Spinal cord injuries can happen in many different ways—and they can happen to anyone.

According to the National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center, the leading causes of traumatic SCI are:

🚗 37.2% — Vehicular crashes
🏠 32.2% — Falls
💥15.4% — Violence
🏄 8.0% — Sports & recreation
🏥 3.7% — Medical/surgical causes
❓3.8% — Other causes

This Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, we’re raising awareness, celebrating resilience, and highlighting the importance of research, rehabilitation, accessibility, and inclusion. 💙

SCI can change a life in an instant. Awareness can change the future.

Our Adaptive Sports & Recreation program had another exciting event take place in Nassau County! 🎯

We hosted an adaptive Boccia event at the McArthur Family YMCA in Fernandina Beach, bringing participants together for a morning of fun, fitness and friendship. Everyone had a great time learning, competing and enjoying the sport!

What a night to remember! ⚾️

Mother Nature tried to throw us a curveball with a few rain delays, but nothing could stop this crew from having a GREAT time! ☔️

85 Adaptive Sports & Recreation all-stars, along with friends, family, and staff, stepped up to the plate for an unforgettable night at the ballpark!

The weather may have been wet, but the crowd was in championship form as we cheered on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to a 2–0 shutout victory over the Gwinnett Stripers in their final home game of the season! 🎉

And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better… We wrapped it up with a grand slam of a fireworks show that truly knocked it out of the park!🎆💥
