Jumpin' Jax hosted the second annual *May The Force Be With You* UFLI Flyball Tournament at Baker County Fairgrounds this past weekend. It was a small tournament but the racing was awesome! Lots of close races, fast singles and pairs, plus some really good training and experience gained in many preflights. I do love UFLI for the baby dogs! Many thanks to our Region 11 friends for attending. Everything ran pretty smoothly, and racing ended nice and early on Sunday to allow everyone to get home at a good time.
I'd like to thank my team for the hard work and for making our cookout a success! I'd like to thank Celtic Mayhem for taking care of our awesome judge, Peter Guidolin and the UFLI Rep Wayne Lowry. Thanks to my student Paige with Seeing Spots photography for taking pictures.
Our teams did well, the racing dogs were nearly flawless, our Standard 3 team went undefeated on Sunday! Joker, Lynx, Razz, and Vivien. They raced hard all weekend.
Our Standard 4 teams were 1st and 2nd on Saturday, 2nd and 3rd on Sunday.
Several of our dogs really turned it on this weekend, Essie dipped into the 4s, Ron stepped up to fill the height dog shoes, Venus was passing like a pro, and Abby raced for another handler! Our baby dogs did amazing! Ringer, Bandit, Tarot, and Frankie did beautifully in their singles. Matisse, Willow and Dinah worked and stayed engaged in their preflights. So proud of my students and their dogs! They have worked so hard and they are seeing the fruits!
We had fun racing in the blow up costumes at lunch on Saturday, Congratulations to Savannah for another 1st place finish, nudging out Lawson at 2nd and Ari at 3rd!
Please join us in August at the NAFA Barkville VI tournament at Baker County Fairgrounds August 15-16.

Just sharing our trip to Jefferson GA where Double Dog Dare hosted a new tournament at a new venue. We had a great time and really enjoyed the venue and the area around it. Our dogs did really well, and our puppies had really good warm ups. I'm pleased with their progress and expect new Flyball Dog titles very soon. 😊 I will drop the photos here, a little bit late, but hey, better late than never!

Jumpin' Jax Flyball co hosted the Lovers Lane Flyball Tournament with Terminal Velocity. It was a great weekend and we ran an unprecedented 5 teams! We did throw together a baby dog team that really had no expectations except to gain ring experience so I count it as a 5th team although it was not meant to be competitive. They surprised me though, running pretty well with minimal passing and Asher in start having never started in a real Tournament. Bindi was the most seasoned, having raced before but coming off a medical hiatus. She ran so well, I put her on one of the other teams on Sunday. Ringer was the next most experienced, having been pulled from racing almost immediately to correct a couple of things we were not happy with. Zing, a retired senior, ran with enthusiasm and happiness on the baby team just to round out the team. The two true babies were Asher and Bandit. Debuting one whippet is exciting, only topped by debuting TWO whippets! We made two Flyball dogs! They both did great! Just need to tweak a few things, and they will be racing full time very soon! Our seasoned racing dogs did really well, the dogs made very few mistakes, it was mostly handler errors. I am very proud of this team. They work hard to improve their dogs, they get along amazingly well, they cheer for each other and celebrate the accomplishments of each dog as if it was their own! They set up the tournament, ran it, and cleaned up everything with zero complaints! I love our little Flyball family! Our dogs did great. I believe everyone had a good time, I know I did! I'll post my pictures of the tournament, please add your favorite photos to the post in the comments! Thanks for coming, and we hope to see you in May at our 2nd annual UFLI tournament.

“Teamwork is the collaborative effort of a group to achieve a shared goal, leveraging diverse skills and perspectives for greater success than individuals could achieve alone, built on communication, trust, clear roles, and shared accountability, leading to increased innovation, efficiency, and problem-solving.”

Today one of our dear teammates Savannah said goodbye to Sydney. Sydney didn’t start her Flyball training with Jumpin’ Jax but when she joined our club we welcomed her, along with her sister Bindi, with open arms. She ran with our club dogs like she had known them forever. Sydney was always a character barking the whole time she was lining up until her mom gave her “GO!” hand signal. She was our first deaf dog on the team and showed us that deaf dogs rule! She will be missed by all of us at Jumpin’ Jax and we know most by her mom Savannah.

JJ traveled to Florence for the Palmetto Pack's No Frills tournament. Our little team, Team Naughty, placed third. We had a great time racing, its a very laid back tournament, in a great venue. After racing Saturday, we sat around the campfire and ate chili, and cooked S'mores. We were joined by Scott and Tammy Bonas for some fireside Flyball tales. Jonathan Bescher, Jim Metallo, also stopped by to say Hi.
The dogs did great! we had mostly handler mistakes. We had our green dog Lula on our team for warmup. She did amazing! It won't be long before she debuts. Ringer was warming up on BR, and he too did very well. He even did some practice starts! Lynx ran on Furricanes and after he settled on the new box, he was steady Eddie as usual. He just loves to play, where, with whom, he has no care. Yogi raced with FFF and was a rock star. They enjoyed her and she had a blast!
There were not many pictures as we were a very small group. I look forward to next month as we head to St Pete for New Years Mayhem!

Jumpin' Jax competed in St Pete this past weekend at the Peace, Love, Flyball Tournament. We had a tiny but mighty crew, racing two teams. Saturday our Open team placed second, and our Multibreed team placed third. Ripley earned his FMX, for the cherry on top of a great day. Sunday our Open team placed first, going undefeated all day! Our Multibreed team placed third only being bumped out of second by speed. Riot earned his FMX title. Joker earned his MBD and MBDX, as this was his first time on a Multibreed team. Nox earned his
MBDCH, Ron earned his FDCH-S, and Veronica earned her FDCH. Congratulations to all of the dogs earning titles! We didn't get many pictures, but we had a lot of fun!

Jumpin' Jax traveled up to UFLI Champs this past weekend. We entered 2 Standard teams and a Variety team. We had several handlers that had never been and I was excited to share the experience with them. Out teams are not 14 seconds, our club could easily put together 3 variety teams! So not many "sport" dogs. We had our fast team, consisting of Joker, Ripley, Razz, and Lynx. We decided not to take Ringer as we felt he was just not ready, and he would sit in a crate all weekend. Our friends, Organized Crime, experienced some issues that required they pull a team and ended up needing to put a dog on another team. We agreed to add Falcor to our team and he rounded out the roster. The team did well in a very competitive division, even setting a club best of 17.4, but just couldn't get into the finals.
Our second standard team consisted of Essie, Cha Cha, Paislee, Deets, and Pulse. We had a spot and Mako from Terminal Velocity joined us. The team struggled at critical moments, and they ended up 3rd in their respective division.
The Variety team became the star of the weekend! The team was made up of Venus, Riot, Yogi, Nox, Abby, and Scarlett. This team never lost a race all weekend! Undefeated and headed to finals, they were really the last team I expected to do so well! We had 4 fairly new handlers, and the dogs! Riot and Yogi are both 7yrs. Abby and Nox are 8yrs. Scarlett is 10yrs! The baby is Venus on this team.
I am so proud of these dogs and handlers. The older dogs may not have another Champs left, so it was extra special that they won this year.
I was so very busy but I am proud of my teammates for going to help the other FL teams when needed, and cheering them on when they weren't. I appreciate Hailey and Michele King from Celtic Mayhem for being there every race to pass call for us, you guys are awesome! I appreciate my little club fir helping each other, for boxloading, for sh****ng balls, for getting things ready for each other. It takes a village, and we have a pretty great one!
