Kick your next weekend off with a concert!

Join us at the Commons Festival Field as Oc3ans Official takes the stage on Friday, October 2nd from 7:30-9:30PM.

Oc3ans Official is a high-energy band from Wilmington, NC, led by powerhouse vocalist Brooke Renshaw, a standout from American Idol Season 22. Blending pop, rock, and hip-hop, the four-piece group delivers crowd-pleasing shows featuring both originals and covers. With Brooke’s soulful voice at the helm, Oc3ans is quickly making waves in the local music scene.

Along with our entertainment we'll have some tasty eats with YUM YUM HAVEN and Capone's A Taste of Philly as well as brews with the Salty Turtle B**r Co. available for purchase!

Concert starts at 7:30, feel free to come earlier grab your spot and a bite to eat. Don't forget to bring your blanket or lawn chair and kick your weekend off with us!

Stay active, build skills, and make new friends with Homeschool Adventure Days! This program is designed specifically for Homeschool families, to offer a fun and engaging way for kids to develop athletic abilities, teamwork, express their creative artistic abilities, and learning along the way. We will have a variety of different activities, with specific ones for each day.

November 3: Fitness day 10a-12p- a day in the gym running games doing different competitive as well and non competitive physical activities.

November 10: Arts and Crafts 10a-12p- participants will be doing a take home craft.

November 17: Field trip 9am-1pm- we will be taking a trip to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium, weather permitting we will also stop at a park afterwards for lunch!

Cost per person is $35 and includes all three days including field trip fee, participatnts will need to pack their own lunch that day. Registration is available online or in person at 100 Recreation Lane.

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new Youth Track & Field Program in partnership with Push Thru Track Club! 🎉

Designed for boys and girls ages 6–9, this recreational program will introduce young athletes to the exciting world of track & field while building confidence, coordination, teamwork, and fundamental athletic skills.

Participants will work on:
✨ Proper running form & mechanics
⚡ Speed & sprint fundamentals
🏃‍♂️ Agility, coordination & plyometrics
💪 Endurance & conditioning
🤝 Relay skills & teamwork
🏅 Basic track & field events, terminology & rules

📅 Saturdays, October 3–31
⏰ 9:00–11:00 AM
👟 Ages 6–9
👥 Registration is required, spots are limited

This first season is all about learning, growing, and having fun—with a focus on athlete development rather than competition!

Parents can register online or in person at 100 Recreation Lane, first time registrants will need proof of age. Something Fun is Brewing for Our Littlest Ghouls!

Calling all little pumpkins ages 3–6! Join us for a morning of Halloween fun at Northwoods Recreation Center on Wednesday, October 28 from 9:30–11:30 AM!

Our little goblins will enjoy:
A Halloween-themed craft
Spooky story time
Cauldron science experiment
A tasty snack
Halloween games & fun!
Costumes are encouraged but not required!

Pre-registration is required, cost is $7 per child. Registration is available online or in person at 100 Recreation Lane.

Registration is open for the next season of Journey Basketball!🏀

Journey League Basketball is an adaptive basketball program that allows participants with special needs to play a team sport in a positive, self-esteem building environment.

Athletes will have the opportunity to learn new skills and the fundamentals of basketball through drills and fun adaptive games.

Participants should wear gym clothes, athletic shoes, and bring a water bottle. Personal Assistants are welcome. Team shirts will be provided!

Come out and join us for a morning of structured and unstructured activities, you choose! We provide the equipment, you bring the fun. Activities will be tailored to the Special Needs community. No registration required, all ages welcome.

Registration starts Monday, September 21st for the next youth basketball season.

Fees: $45/Resident, $65/Non-Resident
Late fees: $5 late fee applied to registrations after 10/9
Ages: Boys 5-15, Girls 5-12
Registration is available online or in person at 100 Recreation Lane

First time registrants: If it is your child’s first time registering for a program, you must provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residency

Volunteer Coaches:
If you know an adult who is interested in coaching youth sports, call the athletic office at 910 938-5268 or please fill out the Volunteer Coaching Application (https://jacksonvillenc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11105/Coaching-App-2021-Form?bidId=) and submit to [email protected] or stop by 100 Recreation Lane to fill one out in person.
