Player development program or PDP is a year round soccer training program designed to develop “A” players to place on various school and club teams.

PDP stands for player development program, our program strives to develop trainees into "A" quality trainees to be able to have confidence in themselves in highly pressured situations. We recommend that all of our goalkeepers work in an environment of the 4 components of goalkeeping to gain their ideal performance. We use the 4 Components (Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological) to develo

Two trainees, one going to college as a freshman and the other going to tryouts to become a pro, experienced what the quote below really means during their training sessions today. Can anyone else relate to this? Please comment to share experiences/insight below.

Manuel Neuer - World Cup 2014 ᴴᴰ 07/16/2014

New post:

The world cup has come and gone with the awards for Golden Boot and Golden Glove handed out. Yet the person who won the award for Golden Glove is unlike many of the goalkeepers in the world right now. One might say without Manuel Neuer in and out of the net for Germany they might not have won the World Cup. Why? Because Manuel Neuer did what Germany needed him to do which was be a goalkeeper and field player all at the same time. Unless Neuer has the ability to read the game, start higher, distribute just as good as field players, read the game just as good as a center back, and shot stop Germany may not have won the 2014 World Cup. Look at the link below for the proof that good keepers MUST be field players and Goalkeepers at the same time.

Today marks a special day for Zach Morris who is one of PDP’s hardest working and longest tenured trainees to this date. After trying out twice, Zach has made the region IV ODP team. I asked him what made him continue on after not making the team twice. Zach’s response was, “I knew with every mistake or failure comes a chance to learn and grow. I knew I had a great opportunity to use each tryout as an opportunity to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses and continue to get better. I also tried to use the failed attempts to drive me to take on extra work.” I asked Zach if he was scared of failing for the third time. Zach responded by saying, “I was nervous to tryout but I knew I had done so much extra work away from regular practice that I was confident I could perform in the moment on a big stage.”

Zach has been a great trainee in the Player Development Program through his constant work rate, drive, positive attitude, willingness to train to the edges of his ability, yet always staying humble in who he is. PDP just wants to say Congratulation to Zach Morris for making his Region IV ODP pool team.

WATCH: All Of Tim Howard's 16 Saves 07/03/2014

Coaches always tell goalkeepers to take the best possible position for every situation. Why? So the save can look safe, sound, secure, and easy. Perfect example was on display yesterday from Tim Howard. His game awareness to see what was developing in front of him so he could take the best, the highest, and most aggressive position for that shot was the difference maker. By the time the shot was hit the shooters had a very narrow window to hit. Well done by Tim Howard.
