Kick off of the Tour of Pain! Nice hot day for a race.

Been consistent the last two weeks…nothing fancy, just tying to get back on the bike each day.

After watching some of the on TV yesterday, I thought this might be worth trying to get a slot for. In the mid 1990s, I was fortunate to live in NYC while serving a mission for the LDS Church, and I can’t think of better race for me than this. So my goal for 2026 is to run the NYC Marathon and return to the city that had such an impact on my life. I will need some help and guidance in what to do to help obtain a slot. However, I’m really looking forward to this challenge.

On Monday, I received a little impression that said “you need to start running again” and then yesterday that was followed up by a Strava follow from , one of Jacksonville’s great runners. So today, I am following that impression. It won’t be a fast run or a long run, but more importantly it is a step towards hopefully getting back to a fitness routine.

Had an opportunity to get on my bike this afternoon. Decided to do some 5x1min/1min rest to see how my power looked after taking some a lot of time off (since the summer). Last set of 311 watts avg was fun to see and to be honest a surprise.

Photo day at .southside…not too shabby. Looking forward to getting this new location open and then being able to get back on bike, hit the pool and the pavement.

Took my bike with me today as I needed to be at our new location .southside to see the new monument sign being installed by . Sun is out but it’s nice to be indoors on the blustery day.
