On April 19, 2000, Cindy Knight landed this impressive 57.33-kilogram (126-pound, 6-ounce) cobia while fishing the Gulf of Mexico out of Destin, Florida. With this fish Cindy set the IGFA Women’s 15-kg (30 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. She hooked the fish on a live eel and was able to land the record after a 50-minute fight. This massive fish is the largest cobia landed by a female angler and fell just 9-pounds shy of the All-Tackle World Record.
