SAME PLACE? NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Sometimes people will remember the version of you they first met because acknowledging who you’ve become would require them to admit that you outgrew the version of you they were comfortable with.

I think back to the woman I was in 2019.

I was navigating a separation and eventually went back to my marriage, still trying to make something work that ultimately wasn’t meant to survive. I was figuring myself out, rebuilding, surviving, and trying to find my footing.

Fast forward to 2026…

I am DIVORCED. HEALED. FREE.

I became a business owner and opened a retail storefront in the mall. I became an author. I became a #1 bestselling contributing author. I wrote my own book, Anointed Through the Ashes. I developed my signature talk, Refined by Fire: A Journey of Faith, Healing, and Purpose, and have taken my story to stages across Wisconsin.

I became a certified WHEN Stories speaker.
I became the host of a fast growing podcast Boss Chick Testimonies
I became a certified leadership coach.
I built The Divine Solutionist and developed The Dominion Strategy.
I lead, coach, facilitate, speak, serve my community, and create opportunities for other people to rise.

And while building all of that, I raised my babies, watched my oldest daughter graduate and head off to college, survived heartbreak, rebuilt after disappointment, deepened my relationship with God, found my voice, established boundaries, and learned how to stand in my own authority.

So no, baby.

I am NOT in the same place I was in 2019.

And nobody gets to take credit for the woman I became either.

GOD refined me.
LIFE stretched me.
PAIN developed me.
I did the work.

There are people who knew me during one chapter and somehow believe that gives them authority to narrate the entire book.

It doesn’t.

The woman you remember may have tolerated things this woman won’t. She may have questioned herself where this woman stands firm. She may have needed validation that this woman no longer requires.

That’s called GROWTH.

And perhaps the greatest evidence of my growth isn’t the businesses, books, stages, certifications, titles, or accomplishments.

It’s this:

I finally know that I don’t have to shrink, explain myself, prove myself, or remain accessible to anybody just because they knew an older version of me.

2019 Paquita was becoming.

2026 Paquita has taken DOMINION.

And baby, I’m still not finished. 💋🔥

This first picture I was forcing a smile because I was happy about opening my mall storefront but on the inside I was so broken and stressed out because my home life was falling apart. I was losing weight due to the stress. I was elevating with an anchor around my waist. It is the craziest thing to be killing it in business, achieving success, and winning awards while your private life is going up in flames. I survived it. One thing about me is I might fall, get knocked down but best believe when I bounce back you better move out of the way because I'm coming back hard and better than I left.

To Now in 2026 a real genuine smile because I am healing, elevating, no anchors, and I’m thriving. Back to a healthy weight and looking good. I am at a good place in my life and I’m loving it. My little people are thriving and my young lady is off to college and embracing her new world. This is joy. This is what I prayed for all of those long tearful nights and years. Peace.

And somewhere between 2021 and 2026, I learned how to take dominion over my own life.

What I now teach through The Dominion Strategy—Reclaim Your Authority. Align With Purpose. Execute With Discipline.—isn’t something I pulled out of a textbook. I lived it. I had to reclaim my authority over my life, align my decisions with who I was becoming and the purpose God placed inside of me, and have the discipline to make different choices even when they were hard.

Through Self-Leadership, Regulated Presence, Conscious Communication, Intentional Movement, and Relational Leadership, I learned that elevation isn’t just about what you accomplish—it’s about who you become while you’re accomplishing it. That’s why I can help others walk this journey now. I didn’t just develop The Dominion Strategy. I became the proof that it works.

You do not owe access to anyone. You determine who gets to sit in your energy.

Today, I needed to hear my own words.

I needed to remind myself of the woman who stood on that stage and declared that the fire didn’t destroy her—it refined her.

Life will test you. It will disappoint you. It will force you to make hard decisions, release what no longer serves you, and sometimes choose yourself even when choosing yourself hurts.

But the fire has a purpose.

It builds character.
It strengthens discernment.
It raises your standards.
And sometimes, the fire is where God reminds you exactly whose daughter you are.

“Baby, you are MY daughter. I am the King, which makes you royalty. I did not create you to beg for what should be given freely. I did not call you higher just for you to lower yourself to keep something. And I will never require you to become less than the woman I created you to be just to hold on to something I never asked you to settle for.”

Whew. Sometimes you have to remember who your Father is before you can remember who YOU are.

I have been through too much, healed through too much, prayed through too much, and fought too hard to become this woman to accept mediocre, bare-minimum effort in ANY area of my life.

And maybe somebody else needs that reminder today too.

You are not going through the fire just to come out on the other side and shrink.

You are being refined.

Watch it. Sit with it. Remember whose you are. And remember who you are.

The fire didn’t take you out.

It introduced you to you. 🔥
