What a great day for Bevill State Basketball! 🏀

We hosted an outstanding Prospect Camp today and had an incredible turnout of talented student-athletes from across the area. The energy was high as players showcased their skills, competed hard, and got a glimpse of what it means to be a Bevill State Bear.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended. We enjoyed meeting each of you and look forward to watching your basketball journeys continue!

A Legend Comes Home 🐻💙💚

If you were on the Jasper Campus between 2018 and 2020, chances are you knew Nelson Haskin. Affectionately known as “Mr. Bevill State,” Nelson made a lasting impact on our campus and basketball program.

Since his time at Bevill State, Nelson has continued to shine both on and off the court. After transferring to and graduating from Columbus State University, he launched a professional basketball career that has taken him across the globe, playing in Serbia, Austria, and most recently with the Landstede Hammers in the Netherlands. This past season, he helped lead the team to a Dutch National Championship and has already signed on for another year.

Today, Nelson stopped by Bevill State on his way home to Demopolis, bringing along his soon-to-be 3-year-old son, Izzy. It was great to welcome him back and see him reconnect with the place where his journey began.

As she enters her fourth year leading Bevill State Cheer, Head Coach Beth Borders continues to make a lasting impact on her student-athletes both on and off the mat.

Coach Borders is passionate about helping athletes grow, build confidence, and create lifelong friendships while representing the Bears. Inspired by her own high school cheer coach, she brings that same enthusiasm and love for the sport to the program every day.

🏀 Last day of camp! What an amazing week it has been!

We’ve had a great group of young athletes learning new skills, competing, and having fun all week long. The future is bright, and there are definitely some future Bevill Bears in this group! 🐻💙💚

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s camp a success. We can’t wait to see these campers continue to grow both on and off the court!

Our campers continued to build their skills, compete, and have a great time learning the game. We’ve had an outstanding turnout and plenty of energy all week long.
We’ll wrap up camp tomorrow and can’t wait for one more great day in the gym!

These student-athletes have demonstrated the dedication, discipline, and commitment it takes to succeed both academically and athletically. We are proud of their hard work and the way they represent Bevill State Basketball in the classroom and in competition.
