Sara and I had a blast at the 1st Annual Dancing with the Stars of Jasper!

We definitely didn’t raise as much money as we would have liked, but the event as a whole raised a lot of money for kids in need and abused children in our community, and that’s what really matters.

We didn’t place in the fundraising competition, but somehow Sara and I did get the judges’ vote for Best Dance 😂 So hey, at least we won the actual dancing part!

Seriously though, it was a really fun night and we were happy to be a small part of it. North Georgia Family Partners and Courtney Patterson put on a great event, and they do a lot of good for kids and families right here in our community.

What an awesome tournament this past weekend! I am so proud of all of our students who competed. Almost everyone walked away with a medal, and all left with smiles and such a great attitude. We had 19 competitors who competed and walked away with over 67 (please help us witht the memes) medals. With a 72.83% medal rate we smashed it. Sparring was our best category followed by Traditional Weapons.

we are looking for sponsors for our in-school tournament that is going to be on October 31st. We are working on getting a few more schools involved to make this a great class "C" tournament. We are looking for a food truck as well that would like to sell food during the event.

Afterwards we are having a Trunk or Treat event so its going to be a great event day for everyone.

We are adding a few events this year to make it even bigger than last years. We are adding a kick-a-thon contest where you have 1 minute to do as many kicks on the bag as you can. Winner will receive a 2 Foot Tall Trophy.

We are also adding a Creative Board Breaking Competition where you will get to break real wooden boards (up to 4 station, with 1 board each) winner will get a 2 Foot Tall Trophy. We will have ages for this event.

Lastly we will have a Grand Champion at the tournament. Where we are going to be calculating how many events you compete in where you place in each event. The winner will recive a very cool 3 colum 26 inch tall trophy.
