Oak Grove High School Wrestling

David Hill finished 2nd in the Virginia Beach Sophomore Nationals tournament. Lost 11-10 in the finals! He beat state champions from Florida, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania on his way to the finals. So proud of David! Christian went 3-2 and is well on his way back to being on the top of podiums.

Some of our 7-9 graders went to Jasper and wrestled in the Berserker Battle yesterday!these were our placers!

You are looking at one of the top 4 Duals teams in 1A-4A AHSAA Wrestling! We defeated Ranburne 54-24 and then defeated Dora 57-22 to earn our way to the semifinal Duals next Friday night at the Birmingham Crossplex! So proud of these kids! Go Tigers!

I haven’t been doing my job very well keeping you informed on the success that these young men are experiencing but let’s get to the point! These young men won 5 dual matches this week with only one loss for the entire year! These kids are very special and have a tremendous opportunity in front of them. If there is any way you can show your support and go to Cleburne Co. tonight to see them wrestle in the quarter finals of the 1A-4A AHSAA State Duals Championship it would be awesome! Prayers for their safety and doing the best possibly can! I am with y’all in spirit! Go Tigers!

Wrestled for the Region 3 Championship today at Fultondale and came away with the Region Championship! We defeated Fultondale 48-27
Thomasville 53-24
Dora 49-27

We are back-to-back region champs and will wrestle the 2nd round of the state Duals Championship TBA!

We went to Hoover High School and wrestled in the Scott Rohrer Tournament pres. by Signature Homes. Proud of these kids. We took 8 kids and finished 17th out of 30 high schools! Our placers were

Split the teams up today and had some unable to wrestle! Proud of Olen Bryant for being tournament champion in the 215 lb. weight class and Kellen Mitchell finished 4th in the 106 lb. weight class at Mountain Brook’s Spartan Invitational!
