A few photos from today's Vikings Summer Slam hosted by Jasper Viking Basketball at the Carl Cannon Coliseum at Jasper High School. Teams participating were Jasper, Oakman, Pickens County, Northside, ASCTE (Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering) and Mortimer Jordan. Varsity and junior varsity games were held today, and junior high teams will compete Thursday.

More than 50 runners participated in Tuesday's Summer 5K Series hosted by Jasper High Cross Country Team — the second of the series being held each Tuesday in June beginning at 6 p.m. at T.R. Simmons Elementary School. The 5K is serving as a fundraiser for the JHS cross country program.
