Drowning is silent and can happen to anyone. Only you can supervise your children 100% of the time. Get to know your environment and learn basic water safety procedures. Stay up to date on training and always put safety first!
At yesterday’s Jasper City Council meeting, Mayor Josh Gates presented a proclamation recognizing May 2026 as Water Safety Month to Stacy Smothers, Aquatics Director and Natatorium Manager for the City of Jasper.
Water safety plays an important role in protecting individuals and families, and education and awareness are key to preventing accidents and injuries. The City of Jasper is proud to support efforts that promote safe aquatic practices and encourage confidence in and around the water.
