We are continuously trying to attain this by implementing many practices as well as school wide initiatives. Curry Middle School has started a school wide initiative: FINISH. Students are encouraged to finish what they start and do not settle for average. This initiative is discussed and practiced in and out of the classrooms as well as in the athletic arenas. Students are encouraged that they can FINISH as long as they keep three things in mind: (1) Be Prompt (2) Be Prepared (3) Be Polite.

Our CMS Beta students have had a great few days at the National Beta Club Leadership Summit in Sevierville, TN. The Collaboration Connection team has achieved an advancement to the National Convention in Fort Worth, Texas next summer. The Scavenger Team WON the coveted collector pins for completing the onsite missions. We were also recognized as an Outstanding Leadership School. They also had time for some fun at Dollywood.

Drivers should be aware of an upcoming speed limit change on SR-257 in Curry, Walker County.

The speed limit will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph along approximately two miles of SR-257, from north of Lane Concrete to south of Professional Landscaping. The change was requested by the Walker County Commission and follows an in-depth speed study conducted by ALDOT.

New speed limit signs are expected to be installed next week.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Brayden Newton to the Curry Middle School family!

Mr. Newton will be joining us as our new 8th Grade History Teacher and Girls Basketball Coach. We are thrilled to have him on our team and look forward to the knowledge, energy, and passion he will bring to our students and athletes.

Please join us in giving Mr. Newton a warm Yellow Jacket welcome! We are excited about the positive impact he will make in the classroom, on the court, and throughout our school community.
