Caleb Fisk sent this photo today from Wind River Canyon, WY. The unusual name made me research, and I discovered it shares a dual name depending on who you ask!

Wind River Canyon in Wyoming derives its name from the Wind River, which flows through it. The river was named by Indigenous peoples and early explorers who recognized its origin in the Wind River Mountains, while explorers from the north referred to it as the Bighorn River, leading to the unique dual naming of the waterway.

* Depth — The canyon is approximately 2,500 feet deep.
* Length — It stretches about 17 miles long.
* Width — The canyon varies from 200 to 3,000 feet wide.
