CHAMPIONS. 🏆

The 918 Black Sox went 4-1 in Okmulgee and brought home the championship rings at the Spooky Smash on Turf.

This group did a little bit of everything over five games — big innings, dominant pitching stretches, aggressive baserunning, clean defense, and a comeback win after trailing 6-1. They kept competing, kept answering, and finished the job.

Weekend results:
20-0 vs Mudcats 2034 11U
3-11 vs Stilwell Raiders
22-1 vs Okie Legends
10-7 vs Oklahoma Smokies 11U
7-3 vs WSE Blue Jays 11U - Navy

🏆 Tournament MVP — Xander Martinez #9
A huge two-way weekend with 7 RBI, 7 runs, 2 HR and 5 SB, plus 3.0 innings on the mound without allowing a hit or an earned run.

Game MVPs:
Game 1 — Roman Flores #17
Game 3 — Xander Martinez #9
Game 4 — Paxon Peaster #18
Game 5 — Brody Krzych #22

Proud of the way these boys responded all day. One loss didn’t change the approach. They reset, competed, and earned the rings.

Battled up all day and came away with a 3rd place finish in a 12U tournament. Proud of the way these boys competed against older competition and kept showing up all weekend.

918 Black Sox 11U went 3-1, picking up wins over Fury Baseball-Sobolik 12U, Oklahoma Elite 12U, and BAMBINOS 12U before finishing the weekend in 3rd. The boys scored 31 runs across 4 games and kept applying pressure on the bases all day long.

Big weekend for our squad, and proud of the fight, toughness, and resilience they showed. Declan Landon came up huge at the plate and Preston Bundy gave us a strong weekend on the mound.

We’ll keep learning, keep improving, and keep rolling.

⚾️ GAME 4 FINAL: OK Express 7, 918 Black Sox 11U 0

The Black Sox wrapped up the weekend with a tough one against OK Express.

Declan Landon collected the team’s only hit, while Xander Martinez and Brody Krzych each reached via walk. Offensively, we never found the big inning we had in the first three games.

On the mound, Carter Wuebben worked 3.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts. Graham Asakevich finished the final 1.1 innings, striking out 3 and not allowing an earned run.

The difference was traffic on the bases. We issued 5 walks, and Express capitalized late to create separation.

Not the finish we wanted, but the group still finished the day 3-1 against 12U competition and earned a 3rd-place tournament finish.

The Black Sox battled their way into a 2-1 lead in the top of the 3rd, with Declan Landon and Graham Asakevich each driving in a run, but Oklahoma Sox answered with a seven-run bottom half to take control.

Paxon Peaster and Preston Bundy each collected a hit, while Brody Krzych gave us a strong start on the mound with 2.0 innings, 2 hits allowed, 1 run and 3 strikeouts.
