Join me in congratulating Sophia on earning her Open Water Diver certification!

Due to a busy work schedule, Sophia opted for private instruction, and we were happy to oblige. She crushed her confined water skills before we headed out to our local "jewel" on the Treasure Coast—Blue Heron Bridge.

While we were waiting for slack tide we ran into Ryan from Ohana Dive Company. We had a great conversation about diving, life, and all the other things guys talk about who don't see each other often. Miss ya already brother!

We had a blast practicing surface skills like snorkel-to-regulator exchanges and surface compass navigation. After knocking out the skills for Open Water dives 1 and 2, we took a fun tour and ran into a variety of marine life, including:

A yellow stingray

Juvenile barracudas

Vibrant school of parrotfish

On our way back to our cars after the dive we crossed paths with Anthony (All around kewl dude and also a great instructor) from Pura Vida to swap quick stories before wrapping up day one! Looking forward to seeing you again Anthony, likely, next weekend.

For dives 3 and 4, we hit the ocean. Captain JP of Wetter the Better positioned the boat perfectly on Bath & Tennis. With the help of Captain Mike to make sure we were 100 percent ready, we heard those sweet words: "Dive, Dive, Dive!"

We made a slow, safe descent into beautiful 84-degree water. The absolute highlight of dive three was spotting a hawksbill turtle! Sophia then demonstrated excellent buoyancy control, easily hovering for a minute using her oral inflator, and handled her mask remove-and-replace like a pro. As instructors, we love seeing a student stay calm and solve problems underwater, and Sophia did exactly that.

During our surface interval, we feasted on some delicious fresh watermelon before swapping tanks and dropping on the Breakers reef. Right away, we spotted a massive stingray in the sand as we wove through the reef fingers.

We eventually crossed paths with Jasper, the resident friendly Goliath Grouper. At first, he seemed grumpy, but a few minutes later he swam right over and "led us to" a beautiful spotted moray eel, looking back and forth at us like a proud tour guide! We also saw the Atlantic spadefish, but with the current picking up, we chose not to dump our air and go fins up for a good cleaning.

Sophia, thank you so much for bringing such a positive attitude, putting in the hard work, and trusting the process. Welcome to the dive family. We can't wait to see you and everyone else on our next fun dive!

Big weekend for new divers! 🎉 In addition to our Advanced Open Water (AOW) course, we also facilitated an Open Water (OW) course where Elle and Stephanie officially earned their OW certifications.

We kicked things off s week ago at the shop, reviewing e-learning and mastering gear setup. The next day, we hit Sailfish Splash for confined water training. We spent most of the day dialing in skills, with Elle and Stephanie demonstrating the perfect mastery needed to move on to the bridge.

At the bridge, we took our time finding a clear sandy area away from other divers and snorkelers. Both ladies crushed their partial and full mask clears, out-of-air exercises, and regulator recovery. For their Open Water checkouts, we made our way to the ghost marina to practice compas skills and hovering using our manual inflators. Of course, no checkout is complete without a Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent (CESA)—and they both nailed it perfectly on the first try!

On Sunday, we met for Open Water dives 3 and 4, welcomed aboard by the crew of Walker's Dive Charters (Wetter the Better), who have truly become extended family over the years. Toward the end of the first dive, they practiced hovering and removing/replacing their masks with total confidence. After a fun surface interval packed with fresh watermelon and hydration, we wrapped up with dive four. By this point, Elle and Stephanie had total buoyancy control, seriously impressing their instructor by holding a perfect, motionless 3-minute safety stop without any kicking or sculling!

Fun was had by all! After filling out logbooks and signing paperwork, it was official. We hope to see both of you back in the water very soon!

Please join us in congratulating Megan on earning her Advanced Open Water certification this past weekend!

It was a long but amazing weekend of diving, starting with a fantastic boat trip to complete her deep and drift dives. The aquatic life did not disappoint—we completely lost count of the sea turtles at Tear Drop. Later that evening, we headed to the bridge for a night dive, spotting the usual marine life along with a very shy octopus.

The next morning, we met back at the bridge to master underwater navigation. Megan practiced counting kicks, following compass headings, measuring distance by time, and swimming a precise square pattern. Given her experience in the Air Force Security Forces, it came as no surprise that she absolutely excelled at navigation. Thank you for your service Megan!

Finally, we moved to a safe, sandy area to practice deploying Delayed Surface Marker Buoys (DSMBs). We even squeezed in some fun diving and were rewarded with a beautiful manatee that hung out with us for a couple of minutes.

Congrats again Megan! It was a pleasure facilitating this course with you and we hope to see you again when you are back in town!

If you are interested in taking your diving to the next level with the Advanced Open Water course, give the shop a call today at 772-261-8491.

Huge congratulations to Pristine on officially wrapping up her PADI Open Water Certification this weekend! 🥳🎉

She absolutely crushed her training from start to finish. She started out by acing her confined water skills in the pool with total confidence, and things only got better from there.

For her first two open water dives, we headed over to Blue Heron Bridge and Mother Nature definitely delivered! She got to see an octopus and several cushion starfish, all while perfectly nailing her CESA and mastering the rest of her core skills.

We got a real treat for dives 3 and 4 out on the boat. At Paul’s, we spotted a humongous loggerhead turtle getting some much-needed shut-eye on the bottom 🐢💤. Then at Sixth Window, she got to meet "Jasper," the Treasure Coast's famous resident Goliath Grouper!

As if becoming a certified diver isn't awesome enough, Pristine is also active-duty Army and is about to start her residency as an ER doctor. Thank you so much for your service, "Doctor" Pristine, and welcome to the underwater world! 🪖🩺❤️

Big shoutout and a huge thank you to Walker's Dive Charters, too. You guys always treat us like family, provide an amazing experience, and bring the best vibes to the water every single time. 🚢⚓️

Welcome to the dive family, Pristine! We’re so proud of you and can't wait to see where your underwater adventures take you next. I have a pretty good feeling it will be somewhere in Japan :).. Drop some love for her in the comments! 👇👇🏽
