At the end of any Teacher Training, I always feel a bit bittersweet about graduating our trainees. But in the end, they really need to fly, and honestly, we love watching them take flight and start teaching - they are READY.

My husband, Tomas, became a yoga teacher 21 years ago this Spring at Atmananda Yoga, when I was pregnant with our son. He has a very different teaching style from mine - his classes are a gentle, slow burn (yes, you feel it the next day for sure 😌). He leans into the traditions of Hatha Yoga, with some flow, and an emphasis on the philosophy of the Yoga Sutras. He is one of those people who was truly meant to teach yoga. He teaches straight from his heart, and his students absolutely love his chill Brazilian vibe. In this reel, he’s just riffing on his feelings about the practice itself, and what it means to him to be able to bring yoga to his students.

Being a yoga teacher is such an amazing honor. It comes with all the challenges of any kind of work on some levels, but the gratification of being in the room with your students, and then changing even one person’s day for the better is simply the greatest feeling in the world. Tomas finds so much joy in yoga, and I’m just lucky to have found someone who reminds me of how transcendent yoga can be every day.

Like MAGIC, the whole gang was pregnant for just one special afternoon! We had a super fun prenatal day last weekend for the teacher training. The TTs were super patient navigating a different Vinyasa technique designed to not only with for pregnancy, but also for so many other yogis who might need help using props & modifications to get the most out of their practice, and be comfortable flowing. So fun. Our amazing JC group is almost done. 3 more weeks! 🥰
