Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve

The Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve will be closed November 15th through November 30th. The preserve will be patrolled by staff throughout this time period. The preserve will reopen on Thursday December 1st. Thank you!

As some of you may have noticed, The Otsego County Parks & Recreation Department has made some changes to our three (3) pages we have. We are looking to use our pages more often and more efficiently to keep everyone up to date on important announcements and updates regarding our facilities and events. All updates, scheduling information, event announcements, questions/concerns you may have, and for all other information regarding the Otsego Lake County Campground, Otsego County Community Center, Community Dog Park, Libke Sports Fields, Wah Wah Soo Public Beach, and Irontone Springs Roadside Park, will be posted to the 'Otsego County Parks & Recreation Department' page.

All updates, scheduling information, event announcements, questions/concerns, and for all other information regarding the Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve, will be posted to the 'Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve' page.

The Community Center is closed until further notice. All scheduled events have been cancelled. If you have any questions please call (989) 732-6521. The nature preserve remains open.

New hours effective Monday May 25th 2020.
Memorial Day - Labor Day Sunday thru Saturday 10:00am - 8:00pm.
Rest of the year: Monday 10:00am-6:00pm. Closed Tuesday & Wednesday. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm.

Johannesburg Lake

The preserve will be closed November 15th - November 30th.

After Labor Day, the hours will be as follows:
Monday 10:00am - 6:00pm
Tuesday & Wednesday - Closed
Thursday - Sunday 10:00am - 6:00pm

The Louis M. Groen Nature Preseve will be closed on Labor Day Monday September 2nd.

The nature preserve is closed Thursday July 4th

The Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve will be closed on Monday May 27th.

The Groen Nature Preserve will be closed on the following holidays:
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Easter Sunday. The preserve is also closed November 15th-November 30th.

The Groen Nature Preserve will be closed on Easter Sunday April 21st
