From the kid who just loved to play hockey!

Thank you to the Jaguars for the continued support to those of us who have lost a child and were part of the Jaguar family - I can only speak for myself when I say that I love the honor you give to them each year by saying their names, hanging banners with their names and hockey #, and just celebrating them! It is truly appreciated! Thank you again Jaguar Hockey Club!

Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who joined us at Inwood on Saturday for the Jaguar Memorial Game. The lobby and stands were packed with current and former Jaguar players and families! Although a somber occasion, it was nice to see so many of our hockey families come home. Video recap to follow soon. 🖤💛💜

Another child, gone way too soon. 💔 My heart breaks for his family and the pain they feel and will continue to endure. My prayers, thoughts, and support go out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

The Jaguar Hockey Club is devastated to hear of the passing of current Jaguar Hunter McDonald. Hunter was a part of the Jaguars since the beginning of his hockey career. He was on the U16 team this spring after playing on Bantam 1 this past fall season.
Hunter was a freshman at Minooka High School where he also was a member of the wrestling and lacrosse team.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kristy, Matt, Matty, Cam, extended family and friends. Please continue to pray for them during this difficult time.
A celebration of Hunter’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 9th with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.
Please consider donating to Hunter’s family through the link below.
Once a Jaguar, Always a Jaguar. RIP #81. You will be forever missed. 🖤💛💜

I received a text message containing this picture last night. I was told that one of the dad’s on the U16 team had these smaller versions of the banners that hang in the Jaguar rink made.

They had hung the banners in the locker room so the boys could tap them on their way to the ice - (if you know, you know). They played and won their championship game at the UC. The U18’s did this as well, they also won.

I am having trouble describing what I felt when I saw and read the message. I love the traditions of the hockey community. While I would much rather Jake be here in the flesh, I am immensely grateful and honored that his spirit lives on in this way. It is truly humbling and amazing!!

I know Jake was up there cheering on all the Jaguar teams, wishing he could be on the ice with all them, and smiling his mischievous smile as everyone tapped his banner.

Former NHL player Steve Poapst now skating his ‘secret addition’ – Officiating 03/13/2023

One of Jake’s former hockey coaches. He is the one who turned Jake from a forward into a great defenseman and boy did Jake love playing defense! I think he loved it so much because he really got to take plenty of hard slapshots from the blue line!!!

Former NHL player Steve Poapst now skating his ‘secret addition’ – Officiating Steve Poapst will be back on the ice at the United Center on Sunday, March 19, but with a whole new look and role. The former left-handed shooting defenseman who played more then 300 games in the NHL, including parts of four seasons for the Chicago Blackhawks, will be one of the four on-ice offici

Thank you to the Jaguar Hockey Club for putting today together. This used to be the Jimmy Porter Scholarship fundraiser, but due to several additional players passing away, the Jaguars decided to include them all and changed it to the Jaguar Memorial Scholarship Game Day!

I can’t put into words the appreciation I have for the Jaguar Hockey Club. Thank you for including my Jake along with the others in this scholarship foundation. You have been so kind and gracious to us and I appreciate every one of you on the board and those who volunteer to make this day happen.

It was nice to see and meet the other families that are going through what we are - as my daughter said when I showed her the photo of all of us, it is bittersweet. Let’s hope and pray no more names will be added to this list and no more families have to go through the pain.

Congrats to those who received a scholarship this year! I hope the Jaguars raised a lot of money today so future kids who want to play hockey, but may not be able to afford it, will be able to with funds through this scholarship foundation. ❤️
