How do Forestry programs on private land affect your ability to install a disc golf course? Does anyone have any experience/knowledge in this area? For instance, Vermont has a Use Value Adjusted program for forested land, but I can’t find any info on what you Can do on the land. I’m also interested in forestry programs in Maine, Colorado, Wisconsin and Michigan.

If I were to buy 40 acres that is in a forestry program, I love the idea of preserving the trees, especially the older ones. But I’d also like to be able to cut saplings under 2” to make a DG course.

The Wild West sponsored by Westside Discs - Aug 29th & 30th | Aces and Chains Disc Golf Two 18 hole safari rounds at West Park, in Joliet, IL. Yes that's right, I said 18 holes at West Park. I'm changing it up again this year, and setting up a safari course at West Park. Please be aware that some of the holes will be made more difficult. Expect the unexpected.

Safari layout for The Wild West is tentatively set. I have marked all but one of the temp tee boxes and basket locations around the course with orange paint so you can find them. Below is a description of hole locations and OB's. Please note that this is a tentative setup, and I reserve the right to change any of the holes prior to tee off on Saturday.

Hole 1: Tee off at top of hill by tennis court fence. Play to #3 basket at bottom of hill. OB: In (surrounded by water) or over the creek. Pavement is IN BOUNDS.
Hole 2: Tee off just past 3’s basket. Play to #2 basket. Mando left of marked tree. OB: In (surrounded by water) or over the creek. Over the fence.
Hole 3: Hole 24 long. OB: Past the parking blocks.
Hole 4: Hole 1. OB: In (surrounded by water) or over the creek
Hole 5: Tee off by hole 2 tee box. Play to hole #5 basket. OB: In (surrounded by water) or over the creek
Hole 6: 15 tee box to #13 basket. OB: On or over the pavement.
Hole 7: Past 22 basket to tee box. Play to #21 basket. OB: On or over the street. Playground.
Hole 8: Tee south of 21 basket. Play to #20 basket. OB: Private property marked with flags. Playground. On pavement. Please do not walk across the marked private property line.
Hole 9: Tee off by end of street. Play to #19 basket. OB: On or over pavement.
Hole 10: Tee off from SE corner. Play to #22 basket. OB: On or over pavement.
Hole 11: Tee across the street, S of #13 basket. Play to #17 basket. OB: On or over pavement.
Hole 12: Tee off down the hill from #16 basket. Play to temp basket past #11 tee (in small group of trees). OB: On or over pavement to the right, AND beyond the basket. Brick curb/gutter is also OB.
Hole 13: Tee off left of 11’s tee. Play to #11 basket. OB: In (surrounded by water) or over the creek
Hole 14: Tee off from pavement to the right of #6 tee box. Marked with a flag to the right of the tee box. Round one – play to the temp basket on left side of pavement setup on top of old sewer top. Round two – Play to the temp basket on the right side of the pavement setup on small piece of cement . Pavement is IN BOUNDS.
Hole 15: Tee off from pavement near 10L. Play to #10 basket. OB: On or over street past the basket is OB. Access road and brick curb/gutter is IN BOUNDS.
Hole 16: Tee off on the other side of trees from #10 basket. Play to #9 basket.
Hole 17: Temp hole to the right. OB: On or over the street.
Hole 18: Tee off just N of #9 basket. Play to 8B temp basket. (Around the corner to the left.)
