Aikido Pennsylvania

Aikido Pennsylvania aikidokenkyukaipennsylvania.org is a organization with its heart engaged in the study of martial arts.

We organize our study around Bruce Lee's philosophy of Jeet Kune Do. Also a great influence is the founder of Aikido - Morihei Ueshiba. Although we are based in Pennsylvania we have affliated schools across the globe!

The Right Replay

What do you do when you make a mistake?

In life, in work, and in martial arts training, mistakes play a constant role. If you’re like me, you might feel that you screw up so often that ‘doing things right’ is a rare exception. http://www.aikidokenkyukaipennsylvania.org/martial-arts--aikido/replaying-the-right-way

Simplicity is Strength

Let’s do a thought experiment:
Imagine two grapplers who do Jiu Jitsu of equal size, athletic ability, and previous experience, who both train consistently for one full year. Grappler #1 learns a new submission every month, so at the end of the year he has twelve finishing moves in his repertoire. Grappler #2, by contrast, trains only one submission throughout the whole year.

Morihei Ueshiba developed Aikido a powerful martial art in the mid 1900s in Japan. Aikido is a form of martial arts that achieves self-defense without injury to the aggressor. Aikido is a non-competitive form of martial art. The technique involved in Aikido enables the attacker to be pinned without causing injury. Aikido students also learn proper falling techniques too, to reduce self-injury caused by an aggressor. http://www.aikidokenkyukaipennsylvania.org/martial-arts--aikido/the-philosophy-of-aikido
