We lost one of karate’s best instructors I have had the privileged train under. I brought Sensei Lindsey ito Jonesboro in 1999 and 2000 for a couple seminars unfortunately a job and three kids limited my time to train. I lost contact with him until one day in 2009 he called me out of the clear blue. He wanted to know if I would be interested in coming down to Bastrop and learn a kata that would change my karate. Marlon and I went down in June it’s was 105 degrees. After that he had us hooked. We brought him to Jonesboro the next 10 years for seminars and he was right he definitely changed our karate. One of the best lessons was you can get to the same place different ways. You can’t be exactly like someone else no one is the same. He was a stickler for technique He would not tolerate poor technique and especially heel stepping . Said it sounded like a Shetland pony going down a cobblestone street. He open our eyes to poor technique and what to look for. He will be missed but his legacy will live on through his students.
